I decided very shortly after starting La Corda D'oro that I wanted to do a wallpaper of Kazuki Hihara and when I found these two scans an idea started forming. The basic style I was going for was kind of a merging of his innate fun, openhearted personality and the essential elegance that classical music inspires.

I tried several different basic variations on this wallpaper, like using music swirls - but I think the colors represent enough whimsy that most everything else needed to be rather staid. Except for Hihara, of course. I don't think there's a single scan of him looking anything but happy.

I must say, I personally think that this wallpaper really captures the effects and feel I was going for.
