I have been wanting to do a wallpaper in this style for a while now, but I could never quite figure out what needed to be done. Then I was playing around and managed to get most of the background done before I had even noticed. Of course, then the problem was the silhouette, because none of the tutorials I found helped in the slightest. Anyway, once I figured out how to do that (thanks to someone on youtube) the wallpaper was nearly finished.
In all honesty I had no intention of making this a Lucy Heartfilia wallpaper, but when I was browsing for scans I came across this one. I knew almost immediately that I wanted to use it because this pose is just so dynamic. I adore it. Anyhow, I tried a few different things with this, not really sure what I was trying for, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Also, I've been trying to get better at enting wallpaper with each of the resolutions - and this is one of those that I've been working on.
