After quite a while, I finished this show and decided that I wanted to make a wallpaper for who was undoubtedly my favorite character from the show - the real Maximilien Robespierre. (Considering that this story is an alternate history, that statement should not be taken at face value.) Of course, it was while I was making this wallpaper and doing a bit of research on the series, that I began to truly understand the story behind Le Chevalier D'Eon and who Maximilien was. I find it to be quite an interesting story, actually. One that I had little knowledge of before this show. Anyway, even after what I've learnt, Maximilien is still my favorite character and I still wanted to make a wallpaper of him - even more so after discovering that there are not many.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the wallpaper, so it was just a matter of figuring out how to get there.
The Psalms used on here is actually Latin translations of Biblical Psalms. They're kind of a hodgepodge of ones that I thought sounded good and captured a vibe/feel that I wanted. I am ever so grateful to the person who posted them on the web - although, if there is something wrong with the translation, blame them and not me. I neither speak nor read Latin. I did consider just using the English for the Psalms - but I decided to keep it more in line with the show.
English translation of Psalms used:
For the Lord knows the way of the just. And the path of the impious will pass away.
Let us shatter their chains and cast their yoke away from us.
And the malicious will not dwell close to you, nor will the unjust endure before your eyes.
And now, O kings, understand. Receive instruction, you who judge the earth.
