Song: Weird Science by Oingo Boingo
Okay, to start with I'm now a huge fan of Slayers. I saw the whole thing on Netflix not too long ago, well the whole anime series at least. I had to go elsewhere online to see the OVAs. But yeah, it's a funny series, but it also tells a good story. They do get a little carried away with some of their gags sometimes, but I found the series quite addictive. And to top it all off they have a great cast of characters. So if you're looking for a real classic anime, look no further.
Anyway, the title I chose for this wallpaper is appropriate in more ways than one. Sometimes when you're looking for scans to use, you find one that's in two halves. But then you think to yourself, "Hey, I can just put these two halves together in Photoshop, no problem." Yet when you get both scans together you find there's a rather large gap in between the two halves. That's because the person who scanned the image broke it into two halves to get rid of the seam with the staples in it. So you're pretty much stuck unless you can do vector.
Well, I can't really do vector art very well, but I liked this image so much that I decided to fill the gap in Photoshop as an experiment. It involved a lot of layers, a lot of use of the blur tool, a few different brushes, and in the end I think it turned out fairly well. Though I don't think it was quite seamless. Some parts I had to guess as to what was originally there, and I had real trouble with the mist in that one part. Anyway, to further try and hide my alterations I made the image a black and white and put on a couple textures to try and give it an old horror movie look. But then I decided to wash it out in a little blue due to an issue with the text. Enjoy.
P.S. In case anyone asks, yes I have seen the movie, Weird Science. Ah, the 80s.
