Hatsuharu Sohma represents the Ox of the Chinese Zodiac in Fruits Basket. Due to this representation of the Ox, Haru is credited for having 2 personalities which he alternates between throughout the story. There is a "Black Haru" and a "White Haru." When in white state Haru is cheerful and kind. He's happy, open, and fairly pleasant towards others. It is when he's angered that he becomes 'black'. In that state Haru gets vicious, bloodthirsty, and dangerous.
