This wallpaper was different than the ones I normally do because I didn't render anything (or use a pre-made render), or add a background. Instead I used the whole image, and erased the lines that went straight down the middle of the original image. Another difference is that while most of my wallpapers have muted colors, this wallpaper has very bright colors in it.
The biggest challenge I ran into while doing this one was erasing the lines. It's not something basic, like rendering, it includes a lot of tedious work and attention to detail of the individual parts of the image as well as the image as a whole.
While this wallpaper was fun, I'm not very sure if I'll do something similar again. Maybe if I used another Gankutsuou scan or a Mushishi scan, because those scans are some of the most beautiful art I've seen.
