Star Fighter 
Here's WildGirl1977's second prize for winning my recent fan art challenge. This wallpaper actually took me out of my comfort zone a bit. For one thing, I know absolutely nothing about this series of games. The fact is I've never really played video games all that much beyond the first three generations of the Pokemon games, some old Yu-Gi-Oh! games made for the Gameboy Advance, and some vintage games like Space Invaders that were made for the Gameboy Color. Part of this is due to not being able to afford the more expensive game consuls that have come out in the past. Plus for me, playing video games take time away from other stuff I like to do, like writing.
Anyway, another reason this wallpaper was a challenge was because I've never really worked with 3D images in a wallpaper before. Fortunately I had a very easy time removing the original background of the scan I found. All it took was the magic wand tool and the Clear command. All in all, I think this wallpaper turned out pretty well. Though I do with I had been able to come up with a better title for this piece. Enjoy.
