Exactly as Ez said, he wasn't perfect. The only president that we've ever had that was even CLOSE to perfect was George Washington. Former President Bush sent us to war because not because of oil, not to prolong his presidency, but to protect our country and people. Look at it in the manner of one big family. If somebody murdered members of your family, and you were the bread maker/head of the household, I'm certain you would go after the psychopath to be certain that your family was never targeted again, yes? One of the top reasons why America's one of the top nations in the world is because we've proved that our military power is something to be afraid of, and that we're not a country to mess with. And in this manner, we've kept a lot of our allies from being targeted because of the treaty/bill we made that if any of our allies are ever attacked, we will provide them with weapons and men and help them fight the attackers.
If President Bush had really wanted to start the war for a lengthened term, he would have waited until he was in his second term. It's well known that presidents will do everything they can to please the majority of voters in their first term, and it's not until the second one that they start on their own 'agendas'. Yes, he would have been on his final term, but he could have pulled a F.D.R., since he was allowed to serve another term since we were in the midst of World War II.
And Bush was not elected again just for the reason that we were in the middle of a war. It was because:
I - A lot of people liked where he was leading the country.
II - There was no way in hell we could let the democrat primary winner run this country. No way in hell.

Just check the facts before you say something. I know he wasn't perfect, but I'm of the opinion that Fmr. President Bush did a competent job while in office.
o A o;;; Woah, no need to get angry. I'm not trying to start an argument. It's just a matter of my opinion xD; Not everyone is going to agree about everything. And sheesh, thanks for the sarcasm = u=;;;
2001 wasn't even an election year. He was just closing his first year as President. The next election wasn't even close and no President, except Obama, would start campaigning AS THE INCUMBENT, three years early.
And don't even TRY to argue with me about his numbers. Every President starts with a high approval that declines throughout their presidency. Things like taking charge after an attack, or ordering the death of Osama Bin Laden will ALWAYS give their numbers a jolt before they continue their descent.
Allow me to destroy your point of securing his re-election with some more...modern information. Osama Bin Laden was killed under Obamas watch, riots in the middle east occurred under Obamas watch as well. This....NATO war on Libya is also happening under his watch. Will this affect the election in 2012? Of course. Will he get re-elected just because of this? Maybe. But I assure you, he doesn't have my vote.
^ ^; I am Canadian, but it doesn't mean I don't pay attention to American politics~ Our politics are boring and for the most part scandal free LOL
Um, well, I think Bush went to war just so he could stay president. The people won't elect a new person if they're in the midst of a war, and what do you know? He goes to war right before an election . u. It was a smart political move, but at the same time wasn't something in favour of the country D:
.....*liked Bush*....Aren't you Canadian? Bush took the US to war because that's what the people wanted after the attacks. Just like in WWII, when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the US entered the war.

Well, aren't you Canadians just so pure.

If Obama does indeed win, I concede your point.

I saw this on TV. I was kind of surprised. But there were a lot of problems with the shuttle program, from what I've heard.
At least Bush wasn't in charge of this one xD "Hey, guys! Let's all go to war against Russia just because I feel like it... IN SPACE 8D"
