As I said back on MyO...I think things are coming together nicely. Sure there are things that need fixing but I'm absolutely certain you will take care of it. ...and when it's done, I'm sure it will be big!!
People need to lay off. I know for a fact that these things take time. You can't just expect it to be done and it be perfect. Web design and maintenance takes a ton of work. So give Adam space to work people, please. I know it has to only add stress to him when you go on and on like this.
I am an old user and made a new account. For some reason when I was trying create myOtaku site, it kept on saying that my profile was off even though I repeatedly kept on clicking it to be on, so in short I cannot make a myOtaku site. And in Version Vibrant, I don't have a title, like being an Otakuite or Senior Otaku, all it is is just a blank and it says I became a member on November 30,1999 even though I registered only yesterday. Oh, and when you update VV, may I make some suggestions of creating a friends list, guest book, and putting a music embed box, just like how we can put up images and Youtube videos for our WORLDS? I think the best music site to use would be imeem, and can u put a user search box? So it'll be easier for us to find our friends? To summarize, I'd like to make our WORLDS have the same features as myOtaku. That way we won't have to keep on jumping from one site to another, and you don't have to keep track on two sites. In my opinion, I think this will be much easier and better. Well, thank you for your consideration and all your hard work along with your staff, Adam... ^^

So much drama in such a short time, both here and back at myO. :p I agree with Aaryanna really. It's a free service and you've been beyond open to suggestions from the members. So even if I hated it, I wouldn't complain or get too out of whack. After all, it is pretty nifty looking and it's clear you've put a lot of work into it.
In the end, I'm pleased. I do have a few things I don't care for, that's nothing in the grand view. I also agree with the sentiment by Aaryanna that it speaks well for the future of this place.
So great job Adam, I assure you, it is appreciated a lot. Especially the new shiny link to OtakuBoards. For those of us who call OB our home, that's by far our favorite feature. Seriously.
I agree with you Des, people need to take a Valium or something. Seriously. Because the way I see it...
Talk about people getting their panties in a twist so to speak. Jeez, for people who enjoy a service for free I might add, some of you [at this world in more than one post] are beyond whiny. I could see all this bitching if we were actually paying for myO or the new site theO/worlds. But we aren’t and Adam has given us plenty of time to voice what we think or would like to see. And even then, in the end he’s the one footing the bill and I can’t see something like this being inexpensive to run either.
The complaining going on here sounds like children whining over the type of house their parents bought when said children do nothing to pay for it, they just live there. I have things I don’t like about the change but since Adam has been more than reasonable about listening to our input, I feel there’s a time to just get over it and move on. Nothing stays the same, change is needed to ensure the future of a place like this. Anyway…
Personally I’m really glad to see things moving forward like this. Because if you don’t change and grow, eventually someone else does and you get left behind. You can’t stay the way you were forever and I’m thrilled to see things going down such a bold path since it speaks well for the overall future of this place.
So in my humble opinion, excellent work Adam. I’m really happy to see things going in this direction. Yes there are things I’d like to see in the future, like more themes for Worlds, but that’s a non-issue in my opinion since I imagine over time we’ll get stuff like that.
Ok then...cause Jangalian is so upset by this. :( And I don't like her being so mad. I hope some things, like at least the comment boxes...will be improved on MO. MO holds so many memories for SO many people, and that's why I'm glad you didn't get rid of it. It would've been lonely (in a way) on here because I know a lot of my MO friends didn't want to switch at all.
Question...how come there isn't a "report" option on wallpapers and fanart? Because I've already found wallpapers that should be reported, yet I can't report them.
About the HTML problem, he's mentioned on an old myO post that it would happen. And VV hasn't even been up for long, not long enough for there to be so many complaints so soon.
At least give Adam a lil while until you start saying "what about the myO comment box?"
I love this new version, if I encounter any problems, then I'll just have to give it some time to be sortened out.
So it's all good.
There is just one thing that I want to know: If I delete my myOtaku site, my profile stays untouched, right? (Note the hesitance). Those won't be tears of utter joy that I'll be shedding if I have to re-resubmit my artwork again.
I'm starting to get the hang of things, Adam! I have a question though, when we click to comment, the box shows up but you can't shrink the box down...like with me, I tend to read people's posts a paragraph at a time, shrinking the comment box in between and respond to them that way. With this box, if I click back to the post to read it, the box disappears and deletes what I had written. Is there a way to make it so the comment box could be shrunk down rather then closing?
Like I had said on my site, I'm trying to calm down over the whole myO thing and move on. Whatever happens happens and if everyone decides to move to Worlds, then I will follow. I've met too many great people on this site to keep complaining.
Well I know I read why things are how they are right now, so I know you said why before. But I guess a lot of people missed that memo.
Why make a new blogging system on theO?
It's for purposes of thinking ahead. By making a new blogging/worlds system in theO that's uniform with all the other systems on the site, it will be far easier to make code-fixes and updates to the entire site; you won't have to update every section separately, so updates are done and implemented quicker.
Why take away scripting like at myO?
Again, for purposes of future updates and upgrades. When people have modified their pages drastically, any new updates can often throw those new modifications completely out of whack and then nothing looks right. Take that out of the mix, and things can be updated faster.
Why pressure everyone to leave myO?
ANY other webmaster in his right mind would have deleted myO off the face of the web after coming out with his new website version! Specifically for this reason that people do indeed like modifying their pages and such, Adam has kept myO online.
Why remove all the myO features (eg. comment manager, avatars)?
All of those features were predominantly rooted in theOtaku's coding. If you ever noticed, even myOtaku's comments were done from the "theotaku.com" web domain. Once all that stuff got moved to VV, that took the myO things offline as they no longer worked with the old system. As already mentioned, he's working on getting those back.
Most other questions can be answered through the info there. If not, what else?

I was utterly amazed at how horribly people misinterpreted your post about switching over to posting on your World page instead of myO. If it were me, I wouldn't have been nearly so polite in the follow-up post.
You've worked hard Adam and I'm glad to see that you are at least noting our concerns for myO. I don't want you to stress yourself though, please don't...it will be just nice to hear once in awhile what you plan to do with myO at some point in the future. I'm glad you're going to work on the comment boxes. Just one step at a time, kay? *hugs* Like I said, do NOT think your hard work has gone un-punished...there are a lot of complaints but that's typical when things get changed. TheO looks fantastic and you and your teams has really done a nice job. I'm sure you're going to continually find things to improve and I look forward to that. Thanks for what you have done for us and what you will continue to do for us.
You know, I never really realized just how intertwined the two sites were till they were separated. I suppose there was bound to be some issues come up on the myotaku end. I'm sure you'll get them sorted out.
The comment system is temporary, I'm sure you'll get something more robust in there when you can. It must be hard to juggle both sites problems right now.
That doesn't really answer our conserns regarding what's going on with our links, our pm inbox for our myotaku backroom. Or why you've given us two blog sites, your intention is to one day get rid of myotaku isn't it? Why else would you make another blog with no html to make sites impersonal? By doing so, a lot of people are still leaving regardless of your telling us to be paitent. We probably would if you gave us more detailed answers.
