When the band got to Mexico off the cruise ship, the guards were pretty freakin' awesome.
Guard: "Buenos dias! Welcome to Mex-i-co. Tu de los Estados Unidos?" Me: "SI! De Arizona!" Guard: "Tengo familia en Arizona. Tu hablas espanol?" Me: "Un poco." Guard: "Ah, veo. Welcome to Mex-i-co. Have you ever been?" Me: "Nope!" Guard: "You must let me show you great places to party." Me: "..."
(Whispering to friend on right: "I like Mexico already...")
Glad you arrived safely. Have fun in CAANNADAA. :)

Glad you made it safe. I remember my first trip through the Canadian boarder gaurds -wavy dream sequence back five years ago-
Gaurd: And what are you bringing in?
Dad: Just the hockey players.
Coach C: And beer for celebrating victory against your team.
Gaurd: ...
Dad: It's for the coaches, not the players.
Coach C: Oh yeah, for the coaches. No, the girls are only fourteen.
Gaurd: Can you two step out of the car?
I'm starting to find that the Canadian customs guys tend to ask more questions than the US ones. Go fig', huh? I will say that they do ask the more interesting questions and will go along with you when you answer:
"You bringing anything back?"
"Yes, a couple shot glasses and a little bottle of ketchup."
"Why do you have a little bottle of ketchup?"
"My friend's mother had a bunch of them in her purse for some reason."
"It must be really old then, huh?"
"It looks disgusting."
"Have a nice day."
"Thank you."
Anyway, glad ya didn't die, glad you made it through, and glad you're settled. Guess I'll hafta come visit you some time now.
Other than that, bienvenue à Canada and welcome to Vancouver. Watch out for aggressive panhandlers.

I just think it's funny that all they had to hear was the word 'anime' and instantley you were a pervert. Honestly we're not that weird .____.
Just try to stay alive long enough to get home okay?

Hehe. I get those kinda conversations a lot, though I don't live in Canada. It's more like...at school where no one is an otaku.

o_O Okay... sounds like someone doesn't know all that much about anime if they automatically assumed you were a pervert.
I'm glad to hear you arrived safe and sound though. ^_^

Sheesh, I'm beginning to think they need to hire a wider variety of border guards. Get some anime fans in there, for crying out loud.
Bazinga!
