My math professor stopped lecture to tell us how many years we'd have to work to make as much as he does for 2 episodes. It was amusing. Then he went back to telling us about our exams.
But as far as the public downward spiral goes, it's a little sad. I've never really been a Charlie Sheen fan, but to see someone self-destruct on fast forward the way he is just makes me go =/.
