That's a cool story, Adam! I didn't realize you were so close to it when it occurred.
I was only 14 when it happened. We were in class when another teacher came in and told us, "A plane just crashed in the WTC in NY!" We all stopped our lessons for that day and tried to catch the TV signal so we could watch the news. Pretty much the rest of the day was spent watching history in the making...
I recall just thinking yesterday, about where you were during the attack, since you are the only person I know who lives in NY. I wasn't part of theO at that time however. I didn't come in for a few years later. But I always wondered and now I know.

I remember seeing the attacks live on TV, and then sending you an email almost straight away to see if you were OK.
I was very relieved when you emailed me back.
What a horrific day that was - I visited the site in 2009 and I was lucky enough to speak with some Naval officers who are serving aboard the USS New York. That was a great honour, and it was also an honour to write a personal message in the visitors' book.

I remember being in school when the planes hit...we were all sent home early, and when I got home my mom had it on the news and refused to let me and my siblings go. I do think I fully understood it until later (I was only 10), but now I see how truly devasting it was.
It was a terrible day but I can't remember a single thing from around that time period. It's completely blank for me, sure I was young at the time, about 7 but I literally can't remember a thing from then. I wish I could :( But I still pray for peace for those still troubled by it and I'm sorry that you were there when it all happened. I couldn't imagine it :( literally
<3 It was an unfortunate day and my heart goes out to those affected by the event. I cannot manage how it felt to be on one of those planes or even in the trade centers.
