Interesting, it's a bit odd if you're been that reserved about drinking. However, there is no getting around the fact that Alcohol is a poison and any amount can cause damage. It's just that the liver had the ability to regenerate and repair the damage. So moderate drinking tends to not be an issue until you get older.
So cutting it out is for the best, though I'd argue that avoiding it period is best. But then what can I say? I've answered calls for accidents caused by drunk driving. Anyway, it sounds like they need to find out if there are other underlying causes contributing to the problem.
Also, for the record, the one who looks stupid/silly, is the one who knows they shouldn't be drinking and yet still does.
O_O Well at least they found out! It's probably better that you don't drink anyway. ^^ My mom says you probably have something else going on so I hope they find it and fix it.
Oh and I almost forgot. I wouldn't worry about looking silly. >> I'd think you look stupid for drinking instead of having something better for you. oO

Alcohol is fine if used in moderation. It seems strange that you'd develop liver damage with only two drinks per night maximum - this makes me think that your liver is particularly sensitive to alcohol, or that there is another problem causing this symptom.
In any case, I guess that means no more research for your game for now!
I hope that things resolve themselves and let us know how you get on when you have another test. Hopefully your liver rights itself and they discover the core of the issue.

o_O Well at least they caught it. And you know what to do in order to avoid further damage. Hopefully they'll find out what caused it in the first place. In the meantime, not drinking is better for you anyway and I would never think you look silly for not drinking it.
ikts good that you are responsible with it ^^
good thing the damage isant too serious what would we do with out our boss man!!!!
thats a good thing that drinking isnot a big part of your life

Ginger beer tastes better anyway ^^ you won't look silly Adam. I'm glad that this was caught early and that you are being sensible, so many people aren't. I wouldn't have thought the odd occasional drink would hurt... But i'm sure your liver will thank you for keeping away from alcohol for a while.

You're so smart, Adam. I went to school with people who drank (underage) a lot more. Some got a bit of damage. They bragged about it and kept drinking 4/5 drinks every other night.
Good for you and I doubt you'll look silly at meetings. You'll look responsible. Or maybe no one will really notice. I never notice things like that unless I need to.
Oh wow! That's really horrible, adam. :( I'm so sorry about that. But the liver damage won't get worse as long as you don't drink more, right? Indeed, that shows how much it can do, even if you don't drink a lot. I never tried it and never want to. XD It's so sad that so many people my age, younger, and older of course (that are actually legal) drink SO MUCH...all the time. It's terrible. :/ Ugh.
Feel better. Take care! [I'll always prefer root beer to anything anyways!]
I'm guessing the testing will reveal a preexisting condition that the drinking aggravated, but regardless the cause, it is a warning to us all. Pretty much, alcohol is le Ick to me, and it's never had much of an appeal. Both sides of my family have various members that have struggled with alcoholism over the years, so I've been raised seeing the evil effects the abuse of it can have on people. This has been a protection for me, seeing as I'll never be tempted to overindulge. But to hear that even in moderation it can harm some people simply reinforces my resolve.
I hope the damage can been repaired (seeing as they can grow whole new livers from simply a piece of one) and your business interactions can continue without too much awkwardness. =P

And here I just use religious beliefs to get out of the social drinking expectations. It doesn't seem to matter that I haven't been a member for nearly eight years either.
Thing is, once people get used to the fact that someone else doesn't drink, most of them tend to care less really. And if it really did cause liver damage... you have the perfect excuse if someone presses the issue. You just say it doesn't agree with you.
Anyway, hopefully it's nothing serious and if anything, you can be glad they caught it now instead of later. Best of luck with that and remember... Only you think you look silly. =P I seriously do think that others probably think nothing of it.
Silly maybe, but also responsible. Too bad I can't get potential employers to see the same way about my amaxophobia. Not driving doesn't mean I can't get to work on time.
Every time the topic of alcohol comes up with me, I'm in the habit of telling people that it's over-rated as a whole. I can take it or leave it myself, in fact most of the times I'd help my friends' band out with their gear, I'd stay away from alcohol in the bars.
ugh, liver damage ain't cool. I hope your tests are fine in February. As for the drinking, I'm only 15 and have never had an interest in drinking. I probably won't when I turn 21 either but who knows, 21's a long ways away. Thanks for the positive message :]

Sorry to hear about the liver damage, I hope healing up goes well. And you can just say you don't drink or that you're cutting back or giving it up when out with meetings. They should respect you for your decision!
On the whole business thing, personally I'd rather do business with somebody who didn't order a beer, even if we were at a bar. It would just seem more responsible to me. Then again, I really dislike all types of alcohol.
Anyhow, get better soon Adam! We need you in tip-top form. And yes, do keep us posted, we're all rooting for you.
I'm sorry to hear that you have liver damage. I've never been a fan of alcohol, personally. The way I see it, it only destroys. While you may look silly in front of your peers for ordering Ginger Ale instead of a Coors (or your brand of choice), don't let the pressure get to you. Though, one or two occassionally probably wouldn't hurt. Good for you for making the choice to save your liver!

Ack! That's a pain.
There's gotta be more to it than the social drinking. Not saying it's impossible, but this really isn't that common, I don't think.
Also, business meetings are rather important to pretty much everything related directly and indirectly to a lot of us, so we can't lose that.
Keep us filled in, now.
