Isla being weak and ill makes a lot of sense to me because, she seems to kind at heart and mourns the leaves that have fallen and died as the seasons begin to change. I like how she charmed the water, because that is really cool and useful to have for anything.
Ooh, that's a good way to create conflict in the story then, with Wanderer concerned for Isla's fate and trying to get her out of the contract, but it's nearly impossible for Isla to get out. Meanwhile, Isla's thinking Wanderer only wants to help her get out of the contract to have more time to focus on the forest (because that's how she's thinking) only to later learn that Wanderer genuinely holds affection and concern for her (Wanderer often becomes attached to the beings she reaches out to.)
Wanderer must then figure out how to get Isla safely out of the contract without putting either of them in danger, since Shumei can challenge her. And the whole time, both Wanderer and Isla have to watch a whole lot of anime to keep Shumei happy and appeased.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Shumei really is the nicest demon ever, I think I will have Isla make that deal with her because I think it'd be interesting to portray her trying to fight her inner nature and not take advantage of her contract while still trying to get what she wants. Especially since Isla is often too focused and driven to give her full attention to other things...even Shumei, who seems pretty laid-back, might not be happy with that.
Maybe Wanderer starts getting worried about Isla and tries to get her to break the contract. (Is it dangerous to break a contract with a demon?)
(Maybe Wanderer could also end up fulfilling Isla's contract for her by watching lots of anime to satisfy Shumei.)
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Not trying to change the name, I just made a mistake writing it.
Shumei sounds like the most likely option, the other two are just too inconvenient for Isla's needs because she's working with such limited resources. As you saw in her post about Wanderer trying to contact her, she's very driven and focused to the point of ignoring anything that doesn't interest her when she's really gotten into a project. So she'd end up violating deals with those demons, even if she meant to keep them at the time. She also can't bleed, and she's way too weak to be sacrificing vital fluids on a daily basis.
Can you tell me more about Shumei?

Ahh, that clears up a lot. If I said Citadel, I meant Sanctum. Just got my words mixed up, lol. So tell me about demons and what conflicts can arise from making deals with one.
Also, Isla no longer wants to mess with the demon after Wanderer reaches her and lends her some power, but it may not be easy to break a deal with a demon...
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Hmm, Isla could enlist the help of a Pause or some other entity, it would probably actually be a good thing because I haven't introduced all that much story conflict. The Sanctum doesn't know Isla's breaking their rules (they're not all that concerned with her existence, if they knew how much private experimentation she was doing she'd be in real trouble. The Sanctum isn't in the Magical Girl world though, is it? Or is it located there? Because if it wasn't then she could take shelter there but then she could never leave without great personal risk.)
I also need to introduce the idea that Wanderer is in contact with a few entities aside from Isla, which is why she can't just give Isla an easy path (also, like you mentioned, giving her all the answers and taking out obstacles would deny her a fully learned life.) I should introduce some of these entities, and the concept that Wanderer has to manage all their objectives and make sure none of them are in conflict. SHe also impresses the importance of secrecy from the Sanctum on Isla, and that puts Isla in conflict because she'd been trying to secure an official position in the Citadel (and not doing well since they discriminate against Magical Girls.) However, maybe the Citadel has just started to take her seriously when Wanderer tells her that it's important to keep things secret from them, meaning she has to distance herself from them.
She's capable of doing it because it doesn't directly relate to her concept, but it could have helped with her concept's fulfillment. It'd basically be a matter of her taking one of two paths to concept fulfillment and putting herself in danger in many ways.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Hmm, I just got an idea. Maybe my Lore Creator does lend her that energy later on in the story, but for now she mustered the ability to leave through her magic and enchantments, but it was a really difficult spell that edged into dangerous-magic territory. It's also not legal for the same reasons. This could add in story conflict, since Isla would get into trouble if someone thought to ask why she is able to leave the magical girl world, and in addition to that, though Isla has managed to keep the magic stable, she doesn't know how long she can keep it stable. Creating, casting, and maintaining the spell (before she managed to stabilize it) almost destroyed her and she's aware that she might've pushed her boundaries too far.
Can non-magical-girl entities visit the magical girl world? That would explain how someone gained knowledge of the fairies and how their dying wish is to save them.

Well, it was out of the magical girl world, which is why Isla got so tired. It's also on the very outskirts of civilization, yet untouched by modern development. Isla's basically weaker than most magical girls because, as I mentioned, her wish is very specific and few people wished for it, as not everyone knows of the fairies' existence or understands where they come from. (That was the case, wasn't it?) Isla has been resourceful, though, and has used creative solutions such as charms and rejuvenation potions to help sustain her on long journeys. She has a lot of knowledge about obscure branches of magic and their uses. So she was able to get there and she risked spending quite a long time there. The forest fascinated her, taught her a great deal about forest magic, and provided great insights that could illuminate the path to her goal.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
I fixed the part about the blood! So Magical Girls can sustain injury, then? I did assume they work a bit differently from humans (and need sustenance and rest like humans do, even if their food sources aren't always the same.) They do lose stamina if they spend too much time out of the magical girl world, they're not invincible. I just wasn't sure where the similarities ended.
Isla was mourning for the leaves because of the odd nature of the forest she'd just come from, in which the trees were sentient and their individual parts were also sentient, yet were still part of the tree. It'd be almost like if fingers and toes had personalities. So the trees do mourn their fallen leaves and Isla was recognizing this loss of life as well, although, had she spent some more time in the forest, she would grow inoculated to that, since leaves fall all the time.
