I don't think Shumei directly killed Isla, she was very angry but I just remembered you saying that something Shumei does is suppress her demonic nature. So I think what happened here is that she'd suppressed it too long and she let it go and Isla was killed by the explosion of dark energy all directed at her. Shumei didn't mean to kill her, only inflicted too much of what I guess she saw as punishment.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Isla died when Shumei became aggressive after Isla said she was breaking her contract. Wanderer was expending a great deal of energy trying to protect her, but then Wanderer became momentarily distracted by the maggots. And that is in fact why Wanderer is confused, lol! Well, a little bit. Also, because she's trying to figure some things out about herself.
I got your PM, sorry I haven't gotten around to responding to it! I'll try and respond tomorrow. I had to cut my work hours when my grades dropped, I was pretty overwhelmed, so I haven't been able to do as much as I'd have liked.

I'm really glad Isla pulled through. I like that her magical powers were held onto because, I imagine she'll be needing them later on in the story. Wanderer not knowing what to make of it herself is quite astonishing, considering she's the one the that helped Isla remove her demon. Of course, Shumei still alive and kicking. I wonder if they'll stay friends or not? It seems like in order to break their fates it requires their death. I wonder if the Sanctum doesn't want their other magical girls to figure it out, cause if they did, I wonder what would become of the Sanctum too? Either way, I look forward to reading more. :)

@Lemonydreams:
Yep, Shumei is pretty powerful, and she currently has a love-hate relationship going on with Isla and Wanderer. She will be back.
The rest of those questions...well...wouldn't want to spoil anything!
