My cat put long scratches in my shoulders, upper back, face, and neck. Difficult to explain at school the next day? Yep. And my toes would have been incommplete without those claw marks...
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Heh, pretty much scratch (no pun intended!) my previous comment about them getting along well, I hadn't seen this post. Guess the only thing you can do is have patience, they're bound to get used to each other sooner or later. New order in the pack and all that jazz, yanno.
I'm pretty used to mood swings from my cat and dog, and usually stay away when they're in their batshit insane/lala land phases. Oh, and my arms are covered in scratches as well. And the cat loved to bite my mom's ankles, so she's covered in scratches too. Ah, the joys of keeping pets~
Sorry to hear about all that mess though. :( You poor thing! *hugs hugs* Ouchies. Never get in the way of animals fighting unless you have a full suit of armor on...
Good luck with this! I really hope they get along! Take care~
Yeah, I need to clip his nails- I suggested it before to my mother, but she rejected it. Maybe if I showed her my arm, she'd consider it. But, I'd rather hide it. She's a big worry-wart.
Right now, the dog is in the "I'm going to attach my teeth to everything" stage- so right now, I'm walking around the house going, "No!"

At first I thought the bad news was that your new puppy was attached to a cat. This would be difficult to handle.
But glad to hear your two dogs enjoy each other, regardless of the possessiveness. I'm sure it will pass. And if not, the puppy will learn to deal. Also, it's great to hear that your new puppy likes your cat! I wish my yorkie liked my cats. She would seriously eat them if she could ever catch one of them. However, I do hope your cat learns to adjust to the puppy. :(
Sorry to hear about your boo-boo's! *hug*

You've got a point, but if you saw how deep these scratch marks are, you'd understand my change of heart. It hurts like crazy; darn claws. D; I love my cat too- he's awesome. But wow, I'm angry at him.

Yeah, at least dogs look guilty if they hurt you. A cat just runs off to the next activity, even if you're bleeding on the ground. Darn cats. D;

Couldn't agree more. I had a cat who scratched my wrist, not a beautiful thing.

I understand! Trust me, I do! I have two cats, neither declawed, both like using my hair as a plaything. Believe me, I get being mad at kitties! Haha!
