Yeah, they planned to make in a similar fashion like the original Planet of the Apes movie, it is such a scary thought...
But I do think that they will change it, it does seem like it is going in a certain way, no main characters killed in quite a while... Yet at least. xD
There are quite a few differences between the anime and the manga. I wasn't to fond of the art (manga) at first, but I am beginning to actually like it. It matches the series and captures the horror pretty well.
Many people say that the anime is better, but I'm someone who simply enjoys manga more than anime. Besides, I don't have the patience to wait for the second season. XD

I have not read the manga, but I've been meaning too. However, I've gotten the gist of what happens in it & my mind was bloooown.
Anime need more death. Legit deaths, not "Oh hey, you just met me for one episode, which is barely enough time to make you give two craps about me & I have a sad backstory, but I'm in love with the main charact- oh no I'm dead."
I have to ask. WAI R THEY RECAPPING WITH MOVIES/SDFBAJKERF
but at least it'll be shiny, and have Eren and Levi with all of their fabulousness. I read about the season 2 news. Amazingly stoken, but then the release date.... everything I watch until then will pale in comparison, and Wonka won't give me any candy for my temporary angst.
I remember them even reconsidering releasing the second season... But AoT really got very popular, so there is not denying it that it will be out sooner or later.
Some other shows like Deadman Wonderland, which were semi-popular for their present seasons, didn't go much beyond first seasons compared to manga.
I mean, even mangaka of AoT planned to end it on a grim note killing all the characters and ending the manga sooner, but after seeing its popularity... Let's just say he changed some courses.^^
Ah yes, AoT was a masterpiece, as is the manga. I haven't been this obsessed with an anime in years, and it feels amazing to get that spirit back again, after thought of having lost it over time.
The live-action movie is questionable, but I'm very happy about it nonetheless. I have high hopes for it and I'm sure they'll do a great job with it~
Oh yes, speaking of movies, there are two part planned ones coming soon, both anime, but they're pretty much going to be recaps of the entire season. (Don't ask why they're recapping again, after they did it so much thoughout, haha.) The first one is going to be episodes 1-13, and it's supposed to be out this November, while the second one has 14-25, planned out to be released early next year.
Also few days ago, season two just got officially confirmed, after an interview with the production staff at Animagic 2014! [LINK]
I'm extremely excited to see the next half of the manga animated, and I'm curious as to what changes they're going to make as well, since they changed quite a few things in the first season from the manga. (Some of which, didn't quite sit well with some of the fandom for some reason...)
But yes, NEXT YEAR. THE HYPE IS TOO REAL. asdfghjkl;
I'm currently reading the manga to tame the hype, but so far it's only managed to increase it, haha.
I also can't wait to see your Levi cards! UGH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH EEEEEE
He'll make the gallery sparkly shine again~

They are horrifying, but when you watch the series, you'll understand why I'm flipping out. This is is amazing, well paced, and people die in the show and it's about time because I'm sick of watching Naruto and having no one die, at all, except for villains & crap.
It's also one of those rare anime where my favorite character is actually the main character, and not a secondary character (not saying I don't love them, but Eren is amazing in this show.)

Yeaa, we need more series like AoT.

He was going to have them all killed?
WAAAHHT NO
They better change their minds. I refuse to get so invested in Eren and Levi's gloriousness and then have it ripped away from me.

Soo apparently I have another thing on my to-watch list. Thanks! :D
Now, how is this anime not horror? Those titans are terrifying.
