Chapter 2: Mother

It had been a month since Eren left her leading position and had given it to her daughter, Arisu. As expected, Arisu wasn't doing all that well. She constantly went to her friend, Meru, so much to the point Meru ended up living in Arisu's home most of the time. Thankfully, this change over the few months didn't cause an effect on Meru and it became a daily routene.

Meru was a bat demon and normally lived in her cave in Sonar Mountain, where she lived training bats and sheltering them if they were injured to heal. Despite the fact Meru was away, she had her younger, apprentice demon bat, Pika, to take care of the rest of the bats living in the cave. Other than living with multiple bats, Meru lived alone and in a quiet life. Whenever she came down from the mountains, she went to see her friend Arisu and learn a little from the Chikumos themselves in healing and fighting arts. "Meru, I need your help, please," Arisu called.

Meru walked into the room, calmly; wearing a purple dress that Eren had made her. "Yes, Ari?" Meru asked, calling Arisu by her childhood nickname, "What can I do to help?" Arisu looked over to Meru while her head lay on her paper-covered desk. "I can't do this!!!" she cried out, slamming her head against the desk.

Meru walked over and patted her friend's head. "Don't say that Ari, you're doing great," Meru told her, trying to sooth and comfort Arisu's worry. "But I'm NOT doing great!" Arisu explained, "I can NEVER take the place of my mom and fill her shoes!" Then she slammed her head against the desk again.

Meru sighed, "Ari, you're being overly dramatic, you've been doing a good job so far, you can't expect yourself to be exactly the same way your mom was when it's only just been a month."
