Ah, V For Vendetta, a truly great story. I read the graphic novel before going to see the movie. I prefer the alt-90s-post-nuclear-war setting of the novel, but the movie had a lot of changes that I also enjoyed, like making Evey a stronger character.
Agreed, agreed.
Christian Bale definitely got more respect for him as an actor after that movie indeed, same happened with Sean Bean.
So it seems we have very similar tastes in movies, something tells me I won't regret watching Vendeta then, not like that even crossed my mind after you mention it. =D
Excellent. It's in mine as well; I feel it's one of the only movies to blend the action genre with 1984/Fahrenheit 451 concept and remain tasteful and poignant.
It's also one of the reasons I started respecting Christian Bale.
But of course I have seen it! It is in my high top list of favourite movies. I even bought the DVD of it which is very rare for me to do (I usually rent it and thats it). I'll give it a try whenever I see it on stores then! =D
I saw the film first, then went back and read the graphic novel. I like the film because the producers took a very confined but still thorough approach to the story and communicated very well the author's intents.
I can't say I like either the movie or the novel better, though. Moore managed to cover a huge spectrum in his work, which at points I confess to skipping around until I got back on the stream I wanted to see. So on the one hand I am very much respectful of what he accomplished and the sheer volume of information he was able to look at, and on the other I sometimes felt he went too far into the personal lives of people I didn't feel essential to the story.
I was the same way when I was your age. It wasn't until a few years later that stuff stopped grossing me out. Though some things still get me. And this convo reminds me that I never got around to watching that show. I really should fix that. =P
Never saw or watched the show either and I have no problem with "a bit intense" part. Should I fix that as soon as possible this little mistake of mine? =P

@ShadowLight:
Actually I've liked Bean ever since he played ex-008 Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye. He's just an all around good actor.
And then I watched Troy recently and he had been as cast as Odysseus. I swear, him and whoever played Hector, man. Good people.

Although I've always liked Sean Bean.

Hmmm, I've seen part of this show, but not all of it. Maybe I should see if I can get a copy and finish it. =P

I believe so. I'd also recommend Equilibrium, if you haven't seen it.

That's good to know. >_< The biggest reason I avoid stuff like that is I'll have nightmares sometimes. I HATE that.

Awesome stuff...it's cool that she's into it. I preferred the film to the comic (which is rare for me), but still, it's very worth reading.

I've heard the name, but never watched the show. oO I'm not sure if I want to though, I've heard that it's really violent.
