Oh the joy of chain letters. Breaking them is more fun than continuing them though. =P I'm still working on getting my younger sister to never forward me those wretched things though. Perhaps I should take Beth's advice and see if that finally does the trick.
I enjoy the holiday, but I'm not big on Christmas music. Oddly, I like very traditional older styled stuff instead of more modern music. Only for Christmas stuff though.
Sharing the computer... haven't done that one, well with siblings, in quite a while. Anyway go and get more ear muffs.
Go Basement Kitteh! Destroy the evil chain letters! I never forward them either. =P
Uh... I don't play either game so... *shrugs* My mom and Beth are always telling me it's okay to play games more, but I like reading better. ._.
Hehe, lucky for me, Aaryanna outgrew chewing up personal stuff years and years ago. I trained her to only chew her stuff. >_> It helps that she likes to be with me all the time so she'd bring something she wanted to chew and hop into my lap with it. XD
I just gave her something she likes better and now... she just fetches those instead of other stuff. Hehe. Anyway, get some new earmuffs! You don't want to be cold!
I do find it amusing that your sibs are now trying to use your computer.
Actually I told them they could. This way we have two units with internet access going at the same time, so I'm not bothered. Plus when I say jump off, they jump off.
But yeah.
And that's actually a great idea. Next time I get a chain mail, I just may do that. =D
I've been breaking chains for decades. Silly pointless junk. The only thing I've done once or twice is send it back twenty times to the sender when it's one of my friends who knows better. Only takes them getting that from me once or twice to end it for good. I'm sure they still send them, just not to me. =P
You've hit upon why I'm so picky about Christmas music. Even the one group I actually like (Mannheim Steamroller) is guilty of doing the popularization bit by having a few songs with singers. Once I realize what they are, I never listen to them again.
And yes, my hell... Carol of the Bells is overdone. I've shelved over six variations of that damn song at Pandora already. People need to branch out already, seriously.
I do find it amusing that your sibs are now trying to use your computer. Heh. Not so amusing for you, but still, probably an eye opener for both them and your parents. It was a little easier to persuade my father, but then his major and field before he retired was in Computer Science Program theory. So though he wasn't up to speed on hardware, he at least understood the concept of needing it for more stuffs to run right. =P
Hmmm, be sure to get some new earmuffs you.

I dare not try to take improvisation away from jazz, due to fact it is highly integral to the style, but I don't like it when stuff that isn't jazz try to mess around with my Christmas hymns.
...kind of like how you mentioned the national anthem. Yes, I believe it sucks as a song, but what sucks even more is the people who sing it. I think they don't show the national anthem on FSN before a Wings game because they know Karen Newman (old blonde tart with too much Botox that sings at Joe Louis Arena) cannot sing that thing properly. I'd rather listen to some shrimp they pulled from the crowd stutter through it. -_-'
See, I think Jazz is an exception to that. Improvisation is so intrinsic to jazz that removing that part would make the chart just another solo piece. And with the few instrumental charts I've heard and liked, the artist always opens with the melody played straight first, and then they basically leave it completely alone and play with the chords. And a solo over "Silent Night" is much better to listen to than some twit seeing how long they can dodge the melodic note by ornamentation.
I don't just break the chains... I disintegrate them. That's why my family and friends never send me email--I'll never open that junk, even if it isn't the trite fluff, but something actually bordering on the lines of funny; I shall have none of it. Rawr.
People trying to make a song their own when it comes to Christmas music is one of the reasons I refuse to play the Christmas music station on the radio. In fact, I do believe I have given up on my Pandora coming up with anything good other than Barenaked Ladies' "Elves' Lament".
...and the house has been fairly good about keeping the Christmas music off this year. This is good, considering the next time I hear about hippopotami or get the corkscrew-in-my-ear that is Alvin and the Chipmunks, I might scream... loudly.
I think my laptop and your computer can relate. -_-'

Pretty sure I just got that same Verizon chain text thing a few days ago. Crazy how wide spread those things are.
And personally, I think I should decide to shut up a lot more than I do. Kudos to you and your decision, though I did enjoy your ranting :3

I don't like chain letters either. So I never send them on.
I like Christmas music, but I don't like it when they constantly repeat a song or do what seems like a gazillion versions of one.
Looks like someone needs a new set of ear muffs. XD
Anyway, you have a good Christmas Sir Allamorph. ^_^

And hallelujah, amen brother! I dislike strongly when singers pop-ify or pretty much ruin a good hymn, Christmas or otherwise.
