Hehe, I've heard of this kind of thing, I've even seen some of them gathering in one of the parks up the canyon here. It's looks both fun and silly at the same time. ^_^ I've never done anything like that myself though.

Never heard of that kind of stuff, although I'm not surprised it goes on.
At least when you did it, you appeared to have thought carefully about all the details. See, if you're going to be a nerd, at least be a smart nerd, for goodness sakes.
Oh. Well, that is odd. It's always interesting when you see a whole bunch of people doing something, then they totally deny that is what they do.
-You play children's card games, just like we do with YuGiOh.
-No I don't.
-Sure you do. Magic is a trading card game. The last time I checked, trading card games are aimed at children.
-Then how come it says "13+" on the box?
-Only to make you feel better about yourself.

I'm pretty sure we have something like that around here. I wouldn't really know since I'm not into stuff like that. And yes Honors Programs need some dissing as it were. :p
Considering I was formerly a member of said program? Considering half of my high-school credits were honors- or AP-weight?
Yes. Yes I am. I can no longer stand them.
You're not the only one and good grief... *insert Picard facepalm here* But that's getting off on a tangent and I'll leave it at that.
Anyway, I've heard of groups like this though I have never been part of one or even seen them up to their antics when they decide to get together. I just know they're around. Heh.
Are sure this is just regular larpers or an Amtguard club? *nerd* I've contemplated joining an Amtguard club, but the closest one is near my state captial, Lansing. Ew--commuting!
Honestly, I have yet to see anyone like that at my community college, but I also don't think the school board would enjoy it very much. Plus, I don't understand Honors programs. I took one honors class in high school that was supposedly at a college level, plus some friends had more honors classes, and I frankly beleive college is not like honors classes. College is easier, in ways.
I never used foam. My brother and I would practice with wooden katanas as well as stick fighting sticks. Sure, if we got hit, it would hurt like a b****, but that's why we never swung as hard as we could. lol. Otherwise we'd break each other's ribs and stuff.
The REALLY fun stuff was doing the fighting on our trampoline! lol.
Hehe, talk about a contradiction. XP I'm torn between a Picard facepalm and outright laughter here. I'm sure we have a group like that here, I've just never been into that stuff.

Never heard of it, though it's not surprising when you think about it. :p Sounds like it could be a lot of fun though.

No, they maintain that they are NOT larpers, and they follow Beltane code.
I wiki'd Beltane (Beltaine), and found out that not only is it a Celtic (I think) celebration, but it's also a Wiccan holiday.
