Depends what's unsaid. I've often realized just as I was about to say something exactly how hurtful it could be in the long run, even if it doesn't seem too bad in the moment, because something had irritated me only because I'd been taught that it should. Being repressed, we teach others to repress themselves in turn, but if we don't say such things, we don't force them to think twice about simply being themselves. What's so hard about breaking the cycle, I think, is that if such a thing was done to us (as it has been done to everyone at some point) it makes us not only self-conscious but also bitter. I feel like it makes people want to take away from others that which was taken from them. So the cycle keeps going.
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Yeah, that's true. If I never learned from other people, there are limitations that I probably never would have broken just because it never would have occurred to me to try. But it's hard to speak up when we teach each other to fear speaking because we may be wrong, which has probably ruined countless chances to make these connections.

Ah, I lost the rage from that particular class. Overall though, it is appalling how much society keeps allowing gender stereotypes to harm people, and then conditions them to inflict that same harm upon others. I hope I'm successful in breaking that pattern, which would be a great triumph to me since my family is firmly stuck in it and that's how I was raised...I guess it's a lucky thing I had so many books and so little TV as a kid.

Yeah, I should. Maybe I'll take the quiz again just to say that. A lot of gender stereotypes aren't necessarily true, it depends on the situation. Sorry, I'll spare you the long rant I've got built up from being in Women's and Gender Studies class.

It said it guessed I was a boy??? probably because of the answers I gave about my family. I'm not very close with them. I don't think that determines gender though.....some families are just like that.

True. The things that a person leaves unsaid can still come out in their actions.
