New Art Supplies!

I got some new fountain pens from five below the other day. The set included 2 pens, one with an EF nib and the other a XF nib, and four ink cartridges. EF stands for Extra Fine, but so does XF, which is a little confusing.

I wish I could do some fancy calligraphy, but my penmanship is horrific. Instead I just hack away at a page, laying down ink like a butcher. It often feels like I'm drawing with a knife! Sometimes I draw so hard that I cut into the paper...

I wanted a real chance to test my new pens, so I worked all night on a drawing of a character design I've had stored away in my sketchbook. She doesn't have a name yet or a comic that she belongs to, so she's one of my many homeless OCs. She was originally designed with my comic, Saint Goblin, in mind. However, as you can see, her design is too cute not to have a story of her own!

Now, I'm no nib expert but the blue pen with the XF nib felt like it laid down more ink, so it was my choice for outlining the piece and filling in black areas. The detail work, such as the cross-hatching, hair, and embroidery, was done mostly with the green pen with the EF nib. This nib felt finer than the XF nib.

Infamous Iron Man

I have finally gotten around to reading the Infamous Iron Man series by Brian Michael Bendis. So far I am not impressed. I have a lot to complain about, so I guess you can consider this a negative review. First off, the art. Its gr...

I'm Back!

Not sure how active my old buddies are here, but I'm back! And by some divine force I was able to remember my old password!

So if you care for an update regarding my life, I'll lay it out. I moved from Flint Michigan to Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor for a year, then back home to Flint for a few months. Then I moved to Fort Myers Florida for one year, and just a month ago I moved BACK to Michigan, but this time to Oscoda where I spent four years of my childhood. Now I'm working full-time at a motel as the front desk clerk!
Still lolita? No, not really. I still adore lolita fashion and I love making loli art, but it isn't practical for me to wear anymore. Still goth as shit though.
My art has changed a lot. Its not really anime anymore, it's more comic book styled, which (if I remember correctly) was how my art started to transition before I stopped logging onto theOtaku.

I'm not sure what the reunion chat is about, but when I saw theO's rare facebook post in my feed, I knew I had to come back and check it out!
So, what has changed over the past few years and how is everyone?

Origa My Favorite Singer

I'm not sure if all have heard yet, but Origa, the singer of the Ghost in the Shell themes and many others, has passed away this Saturday. I really hope this is just another stupid celebrity death hoax, however it's been announced on her official facebook page (where I found out) and from several anime and Russian news sources.

I am broken hearted. She was my favorite singer of all time, I've been a fan of her for nearly ten years. She had the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. Sadly I didn't go see her perform in Detroit this past October, it was my only chance and I missed it. I love her so much.

She was such an inspiration to me, my comics and art all were inspired by her music. Ever read one of my old comics like? Dialog filled with Origa lyrics. All my artwork back then? Named after Origa songs. My favorite oc, Natalya, her theme song was Origa's rendition of Kalinka. Monarchy X Anarchy as it is today would not have existed without Origa.

I really hope this is all just a big nasty joke and Origa is still alive and singing

My New Tea Cup!

I went to the Goodwill yesterday and found an antique Flow Blue tea cup for 99 cents! It has quite a bit of damage such as chips and dirty scuffs but it looked so cute with another Flow Blue dish of mine! ...
