Chapter 9: Bonds Form
[6 weeks after Lenne’s fight]
Momoko: ‘come on! Kaen just got his cast off let’s go out or something!” she stood up from her computer.
Lenne: “I agree….this computer stuff is getting on my last nerve.” She sighed and closed her eyes.
Momoko: “how ‘bout it guys?” she looked at Kaen and Takeshi.
Takeshi: he shrugged “I guess…”
Kaen: “whtever…” he stood up
Momoko: “good…” she smiled.
[after a couple minutes]
Momoko: “so where should we go?”
Lenne: “I dunno…” she shrugs and puts her hand behind her head.
Momoko: she looked at Lenne with her eyes half closed and had a puty look on “well you’re no help…”
Lenne: “don’t gimme that look”
Takeshi: he smiled “Momoko…I want to show you something…”
Momoko: she stopped and looked behind her. “what is it takeshi?” she smiled.
Takeshi: he grabbed a hold of her wrist “come on…” they walked off in the opposite direction.
Lenne: “It’s about time he thought of something…” she looked at Kaen “come on I want to show you something too…”
[At a skate park]
Takeshi: “here…”
Momoko: she smiles “you’re going to show me some skate tricks?”
Takeshi: “yep…” he pulled his skateboard from his backpack and walked over to the half pipe.
Momoko: she followed and climbed up with Takeshi almost losing her grip.
Takeshi: he grabbed her hand and chuckled “you klutz…” he smirked pulling her up.
Momoko: she blushed “oh yeah make fun of me…”
Takeshi: “I wasn’t…” he chuckled again “watch…this is called a Blunt to Fakie alright?” he went down the ramp and up the other side. He placed the back truck over the lip of the half pipe and the tail of the skateboard on the lip, appearing as if he was doing a blunt stall. He did a small ollie off the lip and rode back down in a fakie. He rode back up to the other side. “well?”
Momoko: she blushed “t-that was amazing Takeshi-kun!” she smiled.
Takeshi: “this one is called a Pogo…” he rode down the ramp once again and went straight up into the air on the other side then landed in a rock and roll. He looked to Momoko with a smile and skated over to the other side.
Momoko: “amazing!” she smiled widely closing her eyes.
Takeshi: “you wanna try?”
Momoko: “no way I’d fall!”
Takeshi: “not if I catch you…”
Momoko: “a-alright…” she smiled. They jumped down from the half pipe and they walked out into an open area. “okay….how do I do this?”
Takeshi: “well…first…lets get on the board okay?”
Momoko: “right….that much I can do…” she smiled.
Takeshi: he chuckled. “we’ll see…” he set the skateboard on the ground “now…step on…”
Momoko: she nodded as she tried to step onto the board. It moved a bit making her lose her balance. She quickly took hold of Takeshi as the board slipped from underneath her.
Takeshi: he held her up with his arms. “looks like you’re not used to balancing….” He smiled.
Momoko: she blushed deeply and stood up on her own regaining her composure. Her stomach growled a bit.
Takeshi: he smiled “you’re hungry…come on…we’ll get something to eat…”
Momoko: “okay…” she smiled and followed him into town. He led her into a Café.
Takeshi: “here…” he smiled pointing to the table that was closest to them.
Momoko: she nodded and sat down as did Takeshi.
Takeshi: “so…how did you become an angel anyways…we haven’t heard your story yet…does Lenne-chan even know how you died?”
Momoko: “uh…well Lenne does know…in fact we knew each other way before we became Labeled angels in fact we were best friends and protected each other…in fact we grew up with pretty much the same problems…our pasts weren’t all that great in fact I am surprised we lasted as long as we did… We were 15…and I was about to get away from the current situation I was in…see my parents had divorced when I was seven and eleven years later my mom got married to someone I felt was a pretty decent father figure…but that was four years ago…when we had just started living with him…Lenne didn’t like him from the start…none of my friends did…in fact one of them actually told me that he looked like a child molester…only a year after living with him did he start to show us truly what a horrible person he was…he became isolated and he played these mental games with me and my family…I eventually isolated myself into my bedroom for most of the time or went over to Lenne’s but my mother and my little brother weren’t like me and lashed out giving him negative attention which I’m guessing he craved because he kept his actions up…then two years later he got more violent…he eventually held my mother up against the wall after she hit him for staring at me…which only helps my friends child molester theory…” she lowered her head a bit her bangs shadowing her face. “well…six months later when we tried to leave…he killed my little brother and told us that if we ever tried to leave again that I would be next…I don’t know why he made us stay there when all he did was treat us like we were just accessories that he didn’t have to pay attention to or do anything to help us live…in the end I lost my sanity and Lenne did with her situation so we ran away to a nearby bridge and…we agreed that it wasn’t worth the trouble of staying in this situation…so we put our heads together and I stole two of my step dad’s guns and we met at the bridge the next day…I handed her a gun and we tried to shoot ourselves but we couldn’t gather the courage to pull the trigger…so…we decided to kill each other…so I held a gun to her head and she did mine…and…on the count of three so we both met the same fate and one wasn’t left behind we shot each other…just like that…it was over and I didn’t have to worry about him anymore…after my death my mother finally got out of there and now lives alone in the dark with remorse seeing as she thinks its all her fault that my brother and I are dead…” tears hit the table as she clenched her fists. “but that’s how it happened…and…I don’t really regret my decision…but…in the end I think we made the wrong one…” she relaxed her hand and the tears stopped. “so now I watch over my mother…and my brother is always there…protecting her…though she’ll never know because he hasn’t shown himself and I don’t think he will…and neither could i…”
Takeshi: he stood up his face shadowed.
Momoko: she looked up at him “Takeshi-kun?”
Takeshi: he walked around the table and pulled Momoko into a tight hug. “You two shouldn’t have had to put up with that…it wasn’t fair…”
Momoko: “Takeshi-kun…life usually isn’t fair…to anyone…it’s just…some are more fortunate than others…and get out of the troubles that others have to live through everyday…” she half closed her eyes “and…I was just one of those…who couldn’t handle the amount of stress that was put on me…” she closed her eyes and hugged him back blushing.
[Kaen and Lenne]
Lenne: she was kicking around a little hacky sack “it’s called hack! Ever hear of it?” she looked at him and smirked.
Kaen: “hacky sack…” he watched the bean sack jump from one of Lenne’s feet to the other.
Lenne: “here…catch…” she smiled and kicked it over to Kaen.
Kaen: he caught it with his hand “what am I supposed to do with this thing?” he glared at it for a minute
Lenne: “not with your hands! With you’re feet silly!” she kicked the little hacky sack from Kaen’s hand and started kicking it from foot to foot again “I mean catch it with your feet…” she smiled and tossed it to him again.
Kaen: he tried but it went straight between his legs. “what’s the point in this again?”
Lenne: “to not let it hit the ground of course…” she chuckled and ran over to the sack and picked it up. “Now try again…”
Kaen: “do I have too?”
Lenne: she had already kicked it to him “Yes!”
Kaen: he kicked it into the air and stalled it on his foot. “there happy?”
Lenne: “stop that!” she walked up to him and took the hacky sack of his foot.
Kaen: “stop what?”
Lenne: “acting Emo! It pisses me off!” she glared at him
Kaen: he said nothing and looked away.
Lenne: she sighed and glared at him again. “live life to the fullest…you’ll miss out on the now if you dwell on what happened in the past…always believe there’s something more…and that you have a purpose…” she grabbed his wrist and took him to a rather large park.
Kaen: “where are you taking me anyways?”
Lenne: “you’ll see…Momoko and I would come here a lot when we were dwelling on things we shouldn’t…” they approached a small pond with a bridge going over it. They walked onto the bridge and leaned on the rail. The sun was setting and the orange sun rays hit the water making it sparkle as the ducks, swans, and geese swam through it the ripples gave the sun’s reflection a beautiful distorted look to it. As the ducks dove down and came back up their feathers sparkled along with the water that came up with them. “see?” she looked at Kaen with her eyes half closed smiling.
Kaen: he smiled. It was almost as if all his troubles had washed away. “It feels good…” he looked at Lenne “…to not have to worry about the little things anymore…” he took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he let it out. After a few minutes he looked at Lenne “you still haven’t told me about how you became an angel…”
Lenne: she looked at him with open eyes “well…I guess I could tell you…” she smiled with her eyes closed. She opened them again and watched as the setting sun went further down. Her skin glowed as she watched it. “Momoko and I had been friends long before any of this…in fact we knew more about each other than a lot of other people…our pasts sucked and we had enough so…we committed suicide…and shot each other…”
Kaen: “but I thought you said—“
Lenne: “—I did…live your new life to the fullest and let nothing stop you…if you let your past get in your way it only makes you feel remorse and suffer more…neither of us liked our situations and so in result we dwelled on things that we shouldn’t have and it made us feel so bad that we killed each other…and God gave us a second chance with the choice to live here on earth…and then we discovered our powers…and became the first Labeled angels of the new generation…it was then we decided to never dwell on the past and always hope for a better future…and so our motto is Nancuronaisa…Live today for a better tomorrow…and it has worked…because here we are…living happily with you and Takeshi…and soon 16 other people as well…” she smiled closing her eyes.
