In this world I'll be giving my opinion on anime I've watched. From the next anime season ( which is summer season ) onwards I'll also be giving reviews per episode.
Feel free to leave your opinion about the anime in the comment box and stay tuned for my first review!
Okay, haven't posted anything here in a long time sorry. ^^; This is kinda like an extra to my first review being Kuroshitsuji.
This anime was dubbed by Funanimation which is said to be one of the best dubbing companies. Personally I hate pretty much all dubs with a passion, anime is Japanese thing so it should be in Japanese.
Kuroshitsuji is my favorite anime/manga at the moment so I was curious to see if they did a decent job or just totally ruined it. I...hated it. DX I've seen lots of positive reviews online but I really wanna state my opinion too.
Maybe it's because English/British isn't my native language but it sounds so...unnatural.
My favorite character in the series is the Shinigami Grell Sutcliff, in the original version he was voiced by Jun Fukuyama. I really love this voice actor, he did a great job on other character like Lelouch from Code Geass.
His English voice actor was a new face so I was really scared since I can understand that Grell is hard to dub. I think the voice wasn't sexy at all, it sounded so...cracky and creepy. It sounded like the evil guys in disney movies or American cartoons. DX I don't understand why everyone loves his voice so much, it makes me want to curl up in a corner and bawl my eyes out.
Another character they ruined was Undertaker, he sounded like a pirate...in a very bad way. DX
Sebastian was meh, not horrible but not great either. The same goes for Ciel.
The only good voice was Madam Red in my opinion, she was really good, almost as good in japanese, too bad she only appears in a few episodes.
If you have seen the English dub please comment stating your opinion on it.
Episodes : 52
Genre : Magic Girl, Romance, Slice of life
Summary : Hinamori Amu is famous for being 'Cool & Spicy' but that's not how she really is. She prays to be reborn as her own self and the next day she finds three eggs in her bed. 'Guardian Spirits' hatch from the eggs, they represent your 'wanted-self'
Story : The plot is stereotype for a shoujo anime. The heroïne has to deal with an evil organisation and choose between two guys. But that's fine for me, I like these kind of anime anyway. ouo
Characters : All characters are very cute but again, not very original. The perfect ( and slightly girl ) boy, the bad boy, the oujo-sama type, a happy-go-lucky girl, etc...
Seiyuu : They're were all okay, they fit the characters. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible.
Music : Fit the anime very well, I like the themes who have a magic feeling to them the most.
Ending : The ending felt a bit rushed. Episode 49 was just a filler and then suddenly in episode 50 the bad guys made their move.
Points :
Story : 7,5/10
Characters : 7,5/10
Seiyuu : 8/10
Music : 9/10
Ending : 7/10
Overall : 7,5/10
Wow... XD That's kinda low figuring I've been obsessed with this anime for 2 years or more.
Here it is! My first anime review in this world. ^^
I'll be reviewing Kuroshitsuji, or Black Butler in English.
Summary :
The story revolves about a 13-year old boy Ciel Phantomhive during the Victorian Era. His parents were killed and he seeks revenge. Ciel made a contract with a demon named Sebastian Michaelis who plays the role as his butler.
Normally I don't like dark anime because I'm very bad at dealing with occult and blood but I decided to give this one a try.
Story :
The anime doesn't complete follow the anime, they've used some of the arcs but there are also anime-only characters and of course fillers. I don't have a problem with this but some people might so if you're not into that, you can still read the manga, which is also very good.
Even people who, just like me, usually don't like dark anime may enjoy this because there's also a lot humor in Kuroshitsuji, mainly in the anime.
Characters :
I adore almost every character in this anime, both their characters and looks are original. The cast itself is fairly small but there's a variety in types of characters, there's humans, demons, angels and even grim reapers.
Seiyuu : A lot of famous seiyuu's voiced a character in this anime. Some names you might recognize are : Daisuke Ono, Jun Fukuyama, Junichi Suwabe and Noriaki Sugiyama.
Music : Normally I won't listen to this kind of opera-ish music but it fit the Victorian Era very well. My favorite song is without doubt 'Si deus me reliquit'.
Ending ( only read if you have already seen this anime or you may be spoiled ! ) The ending of the anime was okay, the stereotype fight between angels and demons. Though it was a bit rushed towards the end and I would have liked to see more characters involved.
It was an open ending so it was pretty obvious there would be a sequel to the story.
That's about it for my first review, I hope you all enjoyed it. 8D
