I'll take a look at that site..Seems we'll never be able to get rid of art thieves..I should think about watermarking my art as well..Thank you my friend^^
Good things comes 2 those who wait, The things you lost will always replace something better..
It wasn't Amazon.com themselves but a private seller. No it isn't cool. Not at all. Unfortunately there's a lot of art thieves that slip through the cracks. It's sad really. But watermarking our work should at least reduce the chances of our art getting stolen/altered/reposted.
Oh, definitely not. We both looked at that and talked about how lowdown a tactic that was! I didn't know Amazon was doing that. But then, private sellers can use Amazon as a selling platform, so I can sort of see that happen without Amazon knowing. But, yeah, that's still not cool.
The thing is sites shouldn't be able to get away with stuff like that "legally". Its disgusting really, the whole subject of art theft is appalling. I would only use it if it was an aRtwork I created, then I can see using it, otherwise not so much. Hell what's messed up is awhile back on Amazon I saw fanart being sold as wallscrolls. It was messed up. I've even seen a wallpaper of mine being "sold" as a Yu-Gi-Oh card game dueling mat. There wasn't a thing I could do either. It sucked to feel that helpless.
That's why us artists have to stick together and look out for each other.
It really is sad, especially in the case of this site, where they're making the pics into posters and selling them. I showed it to my mom, and she said thir legal "loophole", as they call it, may be that users supply the art and the only thing the site does is offer a printing service.
Yeah, that was the weird thing. It doesn't even seem to have a browse. I showed it to my mom, and she said thir legal "loophole", as they call it, may be that users supply the art and the only thing the site does is offer a printing service.
It's sad really that there are sites and people out there who resort to stealing honest artists' artwork. I have been watermarking my drawings and art for quite awhile now for just that reason. I don't really like watermarking my work but if it protects my work from getting taken or at least makes it harder then it does its job. Thanks for this heads up my good friend. I will check out this site...
UPDATE: I just checked out the site "wallpart.com" and they appear to "sell" posters. I did a random search just to see what would pop up. I not only found some random pieces of fanart (which wasn't signed btw), but some cosplayer's photos, and bad quality pictures of magazine prints. I wouldn't buy these as "posters". I will stick with reputable sites to buy good quality wall scrolls and posters. Thanks for putting out the PB (public broadcast) on this. It needs to be exposed. They run a shady operation.

I looked at this site too. It wouldn't even allow me to do a search. Glad you mentioned about this problem though. It seems to be happening a lot with people getting their work taken anymore :(

I just found this: CLICK NOW. Wallpart is a phishing site. If you click the link to have your art removed, you could get hacked.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!

Really? I could at least do a search. They don't seem to have a browse, though. But, yeah, it's really sad that they can stoop so low.

I took a peek at the site. Doesn't look too user-friendly. I didn't see much of anything on the main page-- including artwork.
