letraset promarkers was the old name, now they're just promarker, they're from winsor and newton and not italian. they're not the best as they dry quite fast and not have refills. but back in the days there were those or copic so.....

Ooh, I’ve never heard of Letraset. (Are those only in Italy?) I do get what you mean. My first markers were a gift, and when I started buying them myself, I’d get just a few at a time with the coupons I had on hand — first Prismacolor and eventually a Copic here and there. I really appreciated those markers.

goodness this makes me think, when I started with alcohol markers they were at least in italy this misterious art media that you could only find in art stores and obviously were so pricey! there were only copic and letraset promarkers (the ones i started with, around 15 markers bought for a discount) nowadays there hundreds of brands and they're so cheap. i envy the new artists, but at the same times, i feel like i really enjoyed and appreciated every single new marker i went to buy to the art store, like a little christmas present. now that you get a bagillion marker in your pouch... maybe it doesn't feel the same.

Ah, got’cha. In my college rendering class, we were taught to use a circular motion to avoid streaks. That’s been a very helpful tip, especially for coloring larger areas.

Yes, I use mostly pencils, but I also have markers that I use from time to time.

That last one, the brand isn’t even prominently featured. I bought them at a book store, and the package just said “Studio Series” Markers.

You use mostly the pencils, right? I’ve found some tutorials on YouTube for them. Looking forward to trying these tips myself, as I haven’t had an exclusively pencil piece in a while.

This is a good list to look at. I have used most the markers here except for the last one. I have not heard of that brand either.
As for Copic refills, you would probably have to order online because I don't think that stores carry refills. :(

Very informative. I'm mostly a Prismacolor person, myself, but I don't know how to use them effectively.
