I'm tellin' all Reka's secrets!! :3 Shh...
First things first, let's get some basic info outta the way:
Full name: Reka Norikawa
Series: Eternal Rain universe
Age: 14 (Eternal Rain) | 16 (Eternal Storm)
1. Reka was raised in an upper-class family as the son of a wealthy woman and a renowned army general. Reka looked up to his father a lot until he found out how he was treating his mother behind closed doors, at which point he started to escape from his house and roam his home city and the ghetto. When Reka befriended a lower-class boy named Hisao, his father abused him for it, and their relationship only got worse from there. Eventually, Reka became a bit of a rebel and even fought against his father. He's mellowed out considerably over time and regrets the poor relationship he has with his father now.
2. Reka's technically right-handed, but because of his training in the Llanian Guard and due to injuring his right shoulder and wrist during a mission, he learned to use his left hand almost as well as his right and considers himself ambidextrous.
3. As much as he would hate to admit it, Reka's a busybody. It's not that he would ask about other people's business if they don't want him to, since he HATES it when others pry into his personal life (Takeshi got himself on Reka's bad side that way when they first met); rather, he's perceptive, and when he can tell that someone is having a hard time, he winds up getting involved in their problems -- this happens quite a bit. His perceptiveness is part of the reason why Takeshi decided to make Reka his second-in-command on the Keyholder team and why Reka's so good at dealing with kids.
4. Reka loves kids. He works at a non-profit daycare center for needy children. Yume and Riku, two of the first kids that he helped bring there, are very attached to him.
5. He's very emotional. While Reka can be stand-offish and nonchalant with people he doesn't know well, when that wall comes down and you get to be his friend, he's as soft as butter and very protective. (He's also extremely easy to fluster. XD) On the other hand, if you earn his ire, you'd better watch out, because his temper and his sharp tongue come out when he's provoked. He's driven by his emotions to the point of recklessness, having on several occasions gotten himself into situations where he nearly died.
6. Reka's not afraid to stand up for his beliefs and speak out against things that he feels are wrong. (This also gets him into a lot of trouble.)
7. Random likes/talents rundown: Reka likes to play soccer, though he doesn't play that much anymore. He also likes to work with his hands and is particularly good at building, carpentry and things of that sort. His other hobby is messing with people. X3 (By the way, don't ask him to cook for groups. He's decent at cooking small dishes, but he burns stuff really bad when he has to prepare multiple food items at once.)
8. Battle stats: Reka has the ability to manipulate fire and lava. Generally, he has a defensive fighting style (unless you really tick him off). He has to be careful how much he uses his elemental attacks, because they quickly take a toll on his stamina -- and, hey, that stuff's HOT. He carries a small knife as a backup weapon. His highest-level attacks, the Surika Rike and Surika Aite, are his last resorts. His biggest weakness in battle is cold water -- there isn't much of it where he comes from, since it's usually very hot there, and Fire Gate fighters have a low tolerance for the cold.
