Are you kidding?! The heads are adorable! They actually remind me of these little figures I used to collect when I was really young. They were called alien bees I think? They had heads and eyes just like that ^w^ as for Pokemon/monster rancher rips, you're not the only one I used to have something similar
.hack did have a very roundabout and kinda confusing way about doing things before it finally got to the point. What hooked me initially was the pretty art and music. XD
that's really neat. I remember you telling me about your style roots! I loved Beyblade and I watched a little bit of .hack//SIGN but I didn't really get it.
lol I think when we were all younger we just wanted our own "mons" XD
This was definitely more Pokemon/Digimon-like art, while my style now has its roots in .hack//SIGN, Naruto and Beyblade, the first anime shows I seriously drew people from.
Lol, I'm glad you had fun looking at this! (Aha, a third cohort in Pokemon rip-offs!! - See Keba's comments below. XD)

oh gosh! this looks nothing like your current style! It's so neat to look at! XD
also I did something like this too, only I ripped off both the idea of pokemon and duel monsters! I also drew on notebook paper. XD
The whole first and second chapters of the comic are still intact in my old notebook. XD Their names are Kevin and Bridgett, and they were going to check out the ruins from an old legend. (If you've seen Monster Rancher, it was the equivalent of a mystery disk and the shrine.)
Nope, most certainly not! XD

Do you have any context of who these kids were and what they're trying to do? Or do you not remember?
So I wasn't the only one doing Pokemon rip-offs when I was young. I feel so much better now.Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
