Ah thankyou, Toya! That makes a lot of sense :D I'll probably get an account then in photobucket, cuz it would be way easier to show a tutorial or progress with multiple images^^
Ah I see!! I also heard that each image you put on can be shown like this: [IMG]URL[IMG] instead of writing :image: or adding the link. I'll try it out if I get an account on photobucket! Thanks a bunch^^
9x11? I use paper about that size. Using a lot of ink is one reason why I want to try to learn digital media. High initial investment, but I'm sure it pays off eventually. ^^;
lol I would of, but then he might get mad and start going off! XD
Oh to add more pictures, you may want to use a photobucket account. that is how I'm posting more pictures up, plus it's easier.
when you go to post more pictures, there is an Icon that looks like a mountin, when you put your mouse over it, the word image appears over it, click on that and then just paste the URL of the picture you want. the only thing is that you have to make it's just the picture only, for example:link or else it won't work. It has to be the pure picture.
Photobucket is easy, you can just copy and paste without any problems.
if this is confusing, just let me know and I'll post up some picture on how to do it.
LOL xD Ya I should have done that!!! haah!
I'm the same way. I read don't like anything that tries to distract me if I have to concentrate!
That sounds good. I'll probably post my pictures and then just type up a stage by stage explanation. Oh do you know how do you post more then one picture per post though?
XD I would og popped his balloon so he can come work. lol I don't like goofing around when I'm working on somethinh serious like work! XD
I might end up taking a bunch of picture and then writing on paper what I did the type! XD it's easier that way!
Yeah I agree... I wish i knew more about what papers to recommend though >_< If you have any tips anytime, feel free to share them with us :D
I usually work on 9inch x 11inch paper... not too big, but gives just enough room for my drawings^^ I really don't like using my markers on wide areas anyway since I always worry about how much ink I use xD
Ah thats good! ^_^
Haha! Good idea! I was in a group with this one person who totally didn't work... he took a balloon and walked around class with it and told everyone it was his pet... while we were working on the project! >_<
Yay!! I know that you'll do your best :D I'm going to work on something like that too, where I can show the progress and then the finished art. I like that idea^^ You could take pictures of different stages in your artwork. I did that with the face of my new OC but I still have to set up how I'll present it^^
Yes, thankyou for telling me about it! :D Its so cool!! I'll be looking forward to your entry too <3
the anime themes mural? I can't remeber, but everyone a least had fun! XD
I don't mind working in groups, but I don't like being being stuck doing on the work while everyone else goofs off. When that happens, I just break away and do my part of the work and let them get in trouble...?!! XD
I think that cryolas would be a very good alternative material to use since copics are expensive. I'm still drafting my idea but I'm not sure how I can use the cryolas yet since I think my idea might get complicated.
I'll still try my best to show my progress with cryola!
I really like that challenge! If you enter I'll look forward to it! I think it's very good to give a brainstorm!
Hmmm... This is a good topic since I've always wondered what's the BEST kind of paper for colors to come out nicely yet boldly. I forget what the paper I found that works ok is called...
I appreciate your suggestion about keeping the working area smaller to reduce streaking. There is a way to reduce that despite having a larger area to color, but I've not mastered that in any way.
xD Wow how did that work out?!
Lol! Oh in my case, either I did it all alone too or else the other people in my group would totally take over =_= I like working with groups but its hard when everyone either is not doing work or they all don't agree xD
Yes, I agree! Oh and I thought it would be neat for people to learn about Cryola markers and see how great a job you do with them. People are interested in Copics but they are much more expensive so maybe they will want to go with Cryolas instead^^ Yeah, i like your idea. I think I'll take a full artwork and just show how I did it too. I got a bit confused on what I was going to do xD
Awesome! I took a little look at that challenge, but I guess I never favourited it! I'll definitely try to enter now that I've taken a closer look... it looks really fun! I like those types of challenges which give you ideas/rules but also allow you to be totally creative! Thanks for telling me about it :D I can't wait to see your entry^^
it was funny, but everyone I was working with wasn't really into anime and most of them didn't even know what anime was. I don't even remeber how we even went with the anime theme! XD
I also did some posters for school, I didn't mind, but I ended up making them by myself and it was hard when no one help, maonly because the kept saying: "Oh But you're doing such a great job" I thought they were lazy.
Yeah I think it's better to see someone's work in Progress, Tutorials are like telling them how to do it and that won't always work for who ever is reading it. It's better to experiment with stuff, plus it's more fun that way! XD
For that contest it's due March 8th, so I think I can do the post while I work on it. the contest I'm joining is This One! ever since I saw it, I really like the idea and I have a bunch of ideas for it. lol You should consider entering too! I think it would be a very good challenge! XD
Oh awesome! That sounds like super fun, at least the painting part! I remember getting asked to do a lot of banners for my school which was nice, but really boring. Nothing anime about it >_<
I agree!! I like how you're thinking :D Thats exactly how our world should be like! That will be the best way. Seeing someone else's method will start people off and then they can try different things without feeling like they're making mistakes. So perfect! I'm so happy you joined the Cubby, Toya! :D
Ah two birds with one stone! take your time on your world posts.. Like you take pictures of your sketches and art, but you can write them up after you enter the challenge of course^^ May I ask what challenge you're entering? cuz I'm curious and I can't wait xD
lol the only time I got away with drawing on the wall was when I was part of this mural project a while back. We got to paint on a wall and it was very fun! I got paid for it too, but it was really hard since I was working out in the sun and we had to set up our equipment and that stuff was heavy, but it was really worth all that because the mural turned out really nice and we did an anime theme too! XD
I don't really want to do tutorials, mainly because there is no right or wrong way to do things, I also think that others can learn better by watching as someone works, that is why I would rather do a process and explain what I do, so that way others can get an idea on how to get started.
I already have an idea planned out and I'm going to start some rough sketches of it. When I'm ready to work on the real thing I'll start posting up some progess of in this world, I just have to make sure to meet the deadline since I'm planning to enter it in a contest here on TheOtaku.
LOL! It actually would be neat to draw something on a wall... though I feel like I would get hesitant with all the room. It would be fun though!
Yay! That sounds perfect :D I like how you're going to do a process instead of a tutorial^^ I was hoping people would do that as well, but it was hard for me to explain. I really can't wait to see it! It'll be neat to show each other our methods!
I coloured an OC today that I've been working on for a while, and I made sure to get some pictures of how I add the skin tone and do the hair. Somehow I'll put it together so it'll make a bit of sense xD Its actually a bit weird telling people how you do things because usually you just do it!
Oh yeah! thats what I used to think as well! I got so upset when I messed up on a paper. But I think it also helped me to be more careful and concentrated as well!
lol I don't really care what I use as long as it works, I would even use copics on the wall if I didn't get in trouble for it!!! XD
I think I might have an idea for a drawing soon, I'll take some pictures of my materials and then pictures as I work, but I need to charge my camera! XD
I'll be looking forward to posting, I just don't think it'll be a tutorial, more like a progress of how I work.
I could do a tutorial later on maybe, but I woulnd't know what to say! XD
I would love to use marker paper, but I think it'll make me nervous! I'll be think the whole time, don't mess up, don't mess up, and then the paper won't be used at all. XD
LOL xD Wow! Well if it works for you, thats great!! I've been told copics aren't good at all on normal printer paper though I've honestly never tried a full drawing on printer paper. But you're artworks always turn out so well!!
Maybe we should post something about that... In your tutorials or posts, you can totally contradict me ok? xD If normal paper works for you, feel free to say so^^ Thats pretty cool. I'm so nervous with different papers when it comes to copics so I end up just sticking with the actually marker paper.

lol I'm breaking your rules I'm so bad!!! XD I use my copics on regular computer paper, but it's thicker then the normal paper and it doesn't do anything to bad. I went to the art store a while back and go some really thin paper and that one looks like it's good with copics so I might use that more! I should also try using some cardstock since I have some here at home, just got to find it! XD
Thanks! Oh there's only one brand. lol. Yeah there's a Michael's near my house so I usually go there. They were about $10 a piece. I'll see if they have any packs.
YAY!!! It'll probably be one of the best art gifts you've ever gotten ^_^ Yeah, they are expensive, but you should get the Ciao type. I have them and they are only $4 per marker when the other ones are over $7! Also, there's only one brand of Copics. And the types are all from the same brand^^ Buying colours in packs will probably give you a bit better of a deal, and I'd recommend using a discount coupon if you can get one for your art store^^ (Michael's usually have lots of coupons, but last time I went to buy copics there the selection was bad >_<)
Good luck! and definitely come back here if you need any more info!
