I don't know how well my comment fits, but another tip on how to not warp a drawing is to draw on a slanted area. If you draw on a horizontal surface, that could throw off your proportions. The top of the page is farther away from you, so you might draw everything bigger than it's supposed to be in comparison to the bottom of the page. For example, if you were to draw a person standing while your paper is on a horizontal surface, the person's head would look too big in comparison to the person's legs. Drawing on a slanted surface can fix this problem because the top of the page isn't as far away as it would be on a horizontal surface.
I hope that made sense.

my mother always told me not to draw so close to the paper, and sometimes I'd listen! XD
I always heard about this, but I've never really thought about the consequences. It is a good thing that you mentioned it and I never thought that drawing close could mess up your drawing a little, but then again it's always a good idea to step back to take a better look. XD
I really like this, Zuzu! Thankyou for mentioning that you posted something... I haven't been online and I can't see Artist Cubby posts in my backroom >_< So I have to check the world manually!
This is really interesting and well done!! I totally agree too! I used to draw with my face so close, and then when I back off, everything looks worse or warped O_o Also, the same thing goes for drawing on an angle (like when you're lying down or something). It doesn't look good when you look straight at it. Yeah, what you said is so true!! Thankyou for the awesome tips.. I'm going to always keep it in mind now! <3

I can understand the feeling, though. Paper is just so interesting, you have to be close to it.

My face stays somewhat away from the paper...
Actually, now I'm imagining a bunch of people drawing with their faces smushed against the paper and it's hilarious. XD
