I find that it's not very common for people to post stolen art on theO, at least compared to DeviantART. I don't know about people stealing art FROM theO, though.
Usually, I find that people like to steal fan art rather than original characters-- unless those original characters are really well-drawn.
Also, I believe that tracing a screencap is a form of stealing, too. Tracing over the hair of an already established character and claiming it as your own is sickening to me. The fact that there's someone on theO doing just that and GETTING AWAY WITH IT sickens me all the more. Sadly, I can't always find the screencaps that this person is tracing. TinEye can only go so far. (If anyone knows of a site where there are a lot of anime screencaps, please let me know.)
Also, I hope no art thieves are reading this because they might read your tips and try to cover their tracks.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
oi plagiarism is a crime. I just get my images from google... but maybe I am a thief but I never mean to.... >< I no like stealing others ideas.. QAQ maybe I should just put up links then....from google but this is true I mean I had a character stolen from me... -___- I worked hard on her... and then.... in a flash.... she belonged to someone else.... but alas what can you do.... whats done was done and that character is not mine anymore....
they didn't really steal my artwork, they took some designs I had created and redrew them claiming them as their own.
It was on a different website, but it was taken care of.
I just understand that having your art or even ideas stolen is no good at all.

I can't go looking for my own artwork on other websites... it'd stress me out way too much and goodness knows I don't need that kind of stress (the kind that says there's injustice and I can't do anything about it).
But that's a pretty good list for spotting art theft. I know I've reported at least one wallpaper because I just happened to see it on another site (the original was minimally decorated, and the artist had a description talking about piecing the image together; the one on here had no description whatsoever and was posted much later than the original).
Also, if anyone else has wondered why I only have one OC posted (who is essentially me in anime form), this is why. I'm too worried about people (from other places on the internet) stealing my characters.

You had some character designs stolen from you? Man I'm sorry. No great artist should be the victims of art thieves. Nobody else can draw like you. I'd notice if somebody stole your art because you have a very distinctive style. You are an awesome artist.

There is an official "how to report plagiarized works" guide in accordance with theOtaku policy, which you can find [here].
Some really important things: don't comment on the work you think is plagiarized, always provide a proof URL, and don't encourage others to hate on the person who submitted it, and don't tell your friends to also report the work - because that causes consternation and just extra paperwork for the moderators to sort through.

I can understand that, I had some character designs ripped off from me.
People really should not take others hard work at all!
