Oh that would be great, if I commented on something stolen, I need to delete it since that person doesn't deserve it and I feel horrible about it.
Thank you!
*highfives* Of course^^ I'm glad we can stick together on this!!
Same here... I actually don't know of many who steal and post on theO but I know now that they are out there O_o I guess when we find out, we can go through with that sort of plan.
That team idea sounds awesome! And we could make sure that we don't get people who would troll or say anything unnecessary but also get our point across and discourage art theft here!
Are you serious? that means I'm horrible at not noticing these things. Q_Q I need to pay more attention to this kind of thing, but thanks for letting me know that.
I've read your post. I found a lot of good information there. I've reported countless plagiarised works. When I checked back to see if the stolen work was still there, sure enough it was. It really, seriously pisses me off. We need more art theft/plagiarism awareness. How you'd go about that I don't know but there has to be a way. I've seen my wallpapers posted on other sites and it makes me sad that somebody would post my work and take credit for it as their own. IT's NOT FAIR DAMN IT! We need to make the mods, administrators, or whoever the higher ups are more aware of this problem. I'll keep my eyes peeled for art thieves. If I had it my way, I wouldn't let them stay on theO. They would be banned. Thank you for a very insightful post. It was very informational and art theft is an issue that needs to be addressed here. Judai hates art theft!
Unfortunately, I do not know this person who got promoted and is stealing art. :/ So I can't really be of service here until I know. D:
But yes! When we work together, the Otaku community can do wonderful things! I bet we can form a small team to help with the damage control of art thieves and get them off of here for good. We just have to stay within the O rules of course. But I do think that it is possible.
Yes totally!! You got that right, Luna!! I think we should all unite! When I dealt with the art thief a couple months ago, it was thanks to the help of Otakus who spammed the girl with comments which claimed that she stole that art (she most definitely did steal in multiple cases!!) So I think thats a good idea, create a mob and try to use power of numbers to get rid of thieves.
Exactly!! Thats why I'm thinking theO should make a better policy with keeping the art securely here... I know some sites that don't allow downloading or copying of artwork, but I'm not sure how much 'work' that would need to make the site 'theft-proof' like that :/ It can get so frustrating! True, and its good that we have a good community of friends here who keep their eye out for anything suspicious
Ah yes, those were the good ol' days. I remember the mobs. I guess the reason that isn't happening anymore is either ignorance, apathy, or fear. Personally, I'm afraid of either getting my account frozen or being banned. Then there's that really defensive thief who yells at you via PM that all that inconsistent work is really theirs and then blocks you to have the last word.
Ironically, the thief who got promoted had public comments on their stolen works (including one from, I think, one of the original artists) calling the thief out. It didn't seem to phase the thief at all, and the staff of theO sure didn't notice.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
The weird thing about theO is that when it comes to art theft, another site is almost always involved. Either someone makes an account on theO and posts stuff from DeviantART, Photobucket, and other random places or someone on another site snags something from theO and claims it as theirs. We can promote awareness on theO, but it's harder to do on other sites where we don't have accounts. I guess the best practice is to check Google Images or TinEye with our own art and see if any matches come up.
Thanks for suggesting that I post this here. It's really helping 'cause I got a lot more comments than I would have, had I only posted on my World.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
I wouldn't say they're corrupt, just neglectful. I'm a little surprised you're following them. Actually, I was alerted to a thief because they subscribed to me in the hopes that I'd subscribe back. Ha ha. Fat chance. I actually blocked that person.

As I commented on Keba's original post, maybe the admins could also look into getting some more volunteer staff... if they're really busy, the extra hands could be really helpful (of course, they'd have to make sure that the people they choose are trustworthy and not art thieves themselves o_o)
I am not sure how long you guys have been here on theO, but in the past, the way theO community handled an art theft was different than today.
In the past a mob would form. Im not kidding. You got a MOB. Countless of otakus would comment on that person's piece saying that it was stolen and should be removed.
Imagine 100+ comments on one piece of work saying the same thing. "This is stolen. Remove it." That really grabs one's attention. And the art work was taken down quickly before the riot got worse.
Now the Mods didn't like this "riot" of comments, so they told all to just silently report them. But I don't think that really has done much change here.
So maybe, just maybe, if theO community reported the same piece as a whole, we can get these art thieves taken care of. Im not saying to rage on their works through comments, but Im not saying a little publicity isn't wrong either.

I personally don't know any art thieves here on theo, but if they are being promoted, that is not good at all and the administrators should not slack off, it just isn't fair to anyone at all.
Thanks for posting this though, hopefully an administrator will take some time and read this, then do something about it.
Awesome, thanks Keba-chan!!! I hope we can get the word out enough to make something happen against art theft, whether its here on theO or even people stealing from theO and posting elsewhere!
Thanks again!!!
