I didnt even see this until now!!! I'm partway through it and just had to comment... this is an amazing post, Rose!!! I appreciate it SO much, its so helpful and just reading about your experiences and then seeing the finished product makes me inspired!! Thankyou so much for posting!!
The paintings look really nice, especially the landscape and the abstract one. (Jackson Pollock is one of my favorite painters.) Your use of color and color relationships is well done. And yeah, painting supplies do cost a lot. I'm a painting major and we have to stretch our own canvases. Which I prefer that instead of buying manufactured canvases. It makes it more personal, but I spend roughly $50-$100 a semester buying wood for the stretcher and I already had a canvas roll that cost $60. (just used the last of it this semester, so I will be looking to order another one) The paints I use cost about $200 including most of the acrylic mediums. I also have about $200 worth of oil paints and mediums. Lots of money spent, but that's half of what being an art student is about...
Keep up the great work!
