I know how you'd feel... Once I took commissions for shirt designs and I'm glad I never really went public with it since some of the requests I had to turn down and I feel like my friends were a tad bit disappointed since I couldn't do what they asked (and it was weird stuff anyway!)

It would be nice to expand over to DA too so you can get some more reconnition, but since it's a big community it's a little harder to get noticed, but it's always good to try. : )

AH that was a good idea to ask your mother since she was a graphic artist! XD And that would be a lot of money too! XD you will have to do a lot of thinking on what you want to do! XD

Thats a great idea too! I was thinking of joining DA sometime as well so I can get in the loop of things with commissions over there and such. I also asked my mom and she gave me some prices... I would never have thought I could charge so much! I've actually finished almost all the drawings... two linearts took me about an hour in total, so I spent like 6-7 hours on everything. And my mom said I could charge from like $30 an hour and upwards! So its exciting! I'm really bad at setting prices tho xP

as for prices I'm not really sure what you could charge. You can try asking someone who has some experience with commissions? but I wouldn't know any.....

I am so happy for you.^^ I knew about this from earlier, but it is still nice to hear that everything is going well with that little commission. :)

If you are unsure about prices you can always set them based on the amount of time, resources (materials that you use) and the quality of what you are doing, oh and also depending on what you do and how hard it is to do.
Prices depend on the region, people as well as what you, so I can't help you much more with this, but I can always recommend to start low and then to raise your price when you become more known.
Also putting advertisements on newspapers, internet, DA and such is a good way to go.
