Suffocate
"Rukia! Rukia!" his fingers rapped on the door, no answer, "Rukia!" he shouted, still nothing, he finally slid the door open and his heart dropped, she wasn't there, she was gone, a singal word was written on a sheet of paper in the closet, "Goodbye" he slammed the door and cursed, he calmed himself down and tried to sense if she was still in this world or not, he could feel the strong presence of her reistu and his eyse flew open, he immidiatly used his Substitute Soul Reaper badge and jumped out the window, running at full speed across rooftops and street lamps until he saw her tiny figure running in the street, he leapt down in front of her and crossed his arms over his chest, "Ichigo," she wispered, she really hadn't expected him to find the note so soon, "Were are you going? Why are you leaving again?" she looked away, "Don't tell me it's more of this self-hate crap, I thought we finally came to an understanding that-" "It isn't my decision!" she shouted in anger, he took in a deep breath in order to not completely scream his lungs out, "This time they really are making you, aren't they?" his voice wasn't strong or steady at all, she looked away but gave a small nod, the moment she did her arm was in his hand and she was being dragged away, "Ichigo! Wat are you doing?!" "Taking you home, I no you don't want to leave, it's obviouse, otherwise you would look me in the eye and tell me that you're leaving, I'm not going to let them control you, control US," she picked up her pace and began walking beside him, sliding her arm out of his grasp and putting her hand in it's place, "W- Wat are you going to do?!" he could tell that she was afraid by the shaky, uneasiness of her voice, "I'm going to convince them to let you stay here and if that dosen't work then we'll just have to use the alternative," "Wat's the alternative?" "Turning you human ofcourse, Urahara still has that giagai," "You- you wouldn't actually do that would you?!" "If the situation calls for it then ofcourse I would! That was my plan from the start of rescuing you," she remained silent the rest of the way home, she wasn't sure that she wanted to follow through with that plan, not after all the hard work she had done
She watched quietly as he nailed a screen in the window, she stared breifly at the locked door, "Just a precausion" he had said, "Ichigo?" "Yeah?" he didn't look up from his work, "Is this to keep Soul Society OUT, or to keep me IN?" he sighed and rubbed his temples, "Mostly the former," "Mostly?" "Rukia you no as well as I do that you have a tendency to obey the law no matter wat the price is, all this time I've basically been telling you to leave, hopefully the next time you get in one of those moods and see that you're boxed in you'll come back to your senses or atleast give up," she slid off of the bed and walked towards the closet, "I'm going to change into my nightgown," she stated, climbing in and closing the door, "Good, I need to make a phonecall,"
Her ear was pressed against the door, she new that it was wrong to eavesdrop but she couldn't help it! Not wen he spoke with such determination in his voice, and about HER none the less! "I don't care about the stupid laws Renji! Just get it fixed before I have to take care of this myself! And I don't think ANYONE wants that to happen!" Rukia new very well wat he meant by that, she new it from the start, even if he turned her human that didn't prevent much of anything, if it went that far he would tear through Soul Society again until he got his way, just like last time,he didn't want that, Soul Society didn't want that, and she CERTAINLY didn't want that, she heard the light click of the 'end call' button being pressed and climbed out of the closet, he stared at the phone a little longer, "I assume you heard that," she nodded slightly, he put the phone on the table and pulled her rist, setting her on the bed next to him, "Renji will take care of it, he has a time limit of three days before I get involved," she didn't respond, he breathed in deeply and pressed her head against his chest, "I no you don't want things to be this way, I don't either, but wat else am I going to do? Let them control your life and you be unhappy?" she looked up, "But Ichigo, look at wat you're doing, there aren't any bars but this is a prison cell! You're keeping me locked in here like some sort of prisoner or some wild animal that you put in a cage! Even if you're just trying to make me happy.... don't you see how horrible this feels?" he stood up and unlocked the door, then cut the screen out of the window sill, "You're free," he stated, she stood up, glancing at the newly aquired exists in the room, then back at him, basically she WAS like a pet at this point, she reveiwed her options berifly, stay with Ichigo and be happy, but disobey the laws and go through alot of crap, or avoid it and obey the laws, but be unhappy and loose Ichigo, her choice was obviouse and she hugged him, "You no.... just because you let me have a choice dosen't mean that I'm going to leave, I just want to feel like you aren't trapping me here," he smiled at her, pulling her forward and gentlly pushing her on the bed, "Ichigo? Why are you trying so hard to keep me here? It dosen't make any sense," he kissed her cheek, "Rukia, it isn't obviouse? I love you, that's why," his lips crushed against her's and the kiss slowly deepened, but the moment was interupted by the phone, Ichigo rolled his eyes and answered it with a loud "Wat?!" lingering arousal still burried in his throat, "Wat?! No we weren't doing THAT! We were kissing Dimwit! Get your filthy mind out of the gutters! .... Well tell the old windbag to go- I don't care if that's rude! Tell him that we're going to do wat we want and if he interferes he's a dead man, well actually he already looks like one, yeah, bye Renji," he turned to her and smiled, "Now, were were we?" she smiled, "I was saying that I also love you, and we were kissing," he grabbed her and pulled her closer into him, kissing her head and stroking her hair, he breathed in the soft scent of strawberries and kissed her again
