Yeah my mom at first slapped my on the back, it actually helped a lot! Gave me a little time to inhale air before I fainted. And then that´s when the ol´ hiemlick thing came in. She probably slapped me really hard because some food spat out. But my body was numb...I couldnt feel anything, loosing sight, and my hearing was muffled, ha ha ha. Not an experience I want to replay in my life.

AHH! That's no fun, and yes, I can see how that would be frightening, slowly suffocating and you can't do anything about it.
AHH. ONe of the singers from the old band The Mamas and the Papas who was quite overweight died from choking on a sandwich...

Yipes that's nasty O_O I'm glad you are alright now. I'd freak out if someone near me was choking... I'd try to slap them on the back, but I suppose that doesn't always help.

I often end up accidently semi-inhaling water. Odd that. Splutter splutter XD

O_O!!! OMG that's horrible!!! That would be such an awful way to die, but atleast you're alright! My sister chokes on everything and I thought she almost died on a piece of a baked potato...and I got choked badly on a big bite of a bagel once....it is scary when you just slowly start to lose the ability to breathe and your face turns red and...aaa...it's horrible....But astleast you're ok!

OH MY GOSH YOU POOR BABY!! I'm so sorry that had to happen...terrifying huh?? Once during lunch a few years ago...freshman year I think...I was eating some breadsticks that they make which are yummy and thick. Well, i was eating and obviously takin gbites that were to big, so I swallowed but it didn't go down all the way! And in my mind I was like OH CRAP!! I kept trying and trying to swallow while also trying to drink water to get it down...I finally did and my throat hurt but...I kept eating my breadsticks too^-^ hehehehehehe! Not as bad as yours and when I mentioned it to my friends later they were like oh..okay...since I obviously survived... bbbbuuuuuttttt...yeah! I'm so glad you're alive!! The world would have been so much worse without you^-^
