I actually remember meeting you on here because you made a sorta rude comment on some art...then I looked at your art and got to know you a bit more. Youre sooooo coooooooooooooo'. Yah know?
Yeah. It depends what the context is. You really shouldnt be so judgmental on new artists, even if they do suck, becuase they ARE new and they are getting used to the atmosphere around here and the sort of art people like.
I can see where she got upset about it
but if it were me, I would feel that its fair, and it would help me to become better..not get pissed about it
I feel your comment was fair, and it does seem like she might be taking it a bit out of proportion
every comment you give me, good or bad, I try to use it to my advantage and make my art better, cause even if you dont like it, the next person may love it.
wow...i needed to type apparently haha
I don't know how they reacted, but I could see that the comment could be viewed as insulting. Just in my honest opinion, it does sound a bit mean. Maybe something constructive like "Hey this drawing is pretty OK, but how about I'll give you a few pointers..., if you could blah blah blah, or if the body was just a bit whatever, keep practicing!" y'know all that stuff. Some drawings may not be worth commenting. Honesty is definitely good, no doubt, and some people do get a bit touchy about certain things. All artists must realize that their composition isn't perfection and there's always room for improvement. I don't like it when people make excuses or say "I don't wanna hear it" whatever.
Sometimes comments you make when you don't mean to be rude could come out that way in the other person's comprehension of it's context, because it is very difficult to decipher the other person's tones and feelings since there's no way of being able to see the body language or inflections in the voice. That's very important to communication so anything that seems to set another person off is simple misinterpretation and miscommunication.
The last part didn't sound very welcoming, but I can't judge since I don't know the whole story. Meh, it's the internet. Whadda gonna do?
Hope I didn't sound like and ass, just trying to help from what I've read. And I'm glad to hear that it was just a stomach ache and nothing serious. ^.^
You way you comment, you're pretty much always criticizing (pointing out mistakes and whatnot), and some people don't take that well. You don't know if they'll feel bad about receiving [constructive] criticism until they tell you. And *shrugs* we who do leave such comments are just trying to help them improve on their skills, but some people... just don't like to hear it... What can ye do? =T
But oh, uhm... Just reading your comment like that, it doesn't sound very pleasing. Of course, I don't know the whole story, but if no one did anything to offend anyone, maybe you should have kept it to yourself? =I
And heh... that's how it is. You can't expect everyone here to be mature and take everything you way you expect. You just find ways to manage. @_@
yeah well they didnt have to react the way they did either. Although it was out of defense they didnt have to seem like they ...well you know, whatever i already explained myself to them so it's all good.
i thought the last part was the thing that made it not so mean....i guess what i think is alright is highly offensive to others. But still, they could have been nicer back.
lol it seems alright to me. but the part about the whole you dont seem nice might be insulting to some. idk, its kinda like how people dont really like being called "mean". but the part about the art is totally fine. this is the internet, so whatever you post is to be viewed by thousands/millions/no one at all and noone thinks the same so people should just be careful before posting their artwork somewhere. if they really want to get their ego stroked by a bunch of people they should just show it to their friends/family/dog. besides, you didnt say it as if it were "fact", you just said that you dont think its all that that good.
also -- glad your stomach feels better. hope you did well on them 8D
That comment did sound kind of mean. I know that if someone left that on my guestbook or whatever I would get pretty upset about it. You like, shattered their dreams and hopes and I mean, even if it's just over the internet, you can hurt someone's self esteem with comments like that. You didn't have to add the last part, I think that's just summing up all the jerkiness into one.

i agree with teapot domescam. it sounded somewhat mean and could be a little insulting as a first comment (from you) on their guestbook.
