Ivory with Duck blue Organza ribbons on chairs :D that sounds lovely... and then for the tables you could have embroidered gold edge Ivory with a Duck egg blue circular Organza in the middle of the table and a steam punky feature in the middle of each one. maybe black ribbons streaming off of Candle arbra's Roses running delicately down the side and falling elagantly onto the table beneath the Candles.
Or something like that ^_^ You could even have the Black embroidered into the Duck egg blue and the Ivory Cloth stay ivory. The gold being the Candle Arbra... or u could have one of those ventian masks apart of the feature aswell in the middle of the table.
Wow my mind is swirling with idea's... lol XD
Omnia1
You could have black and red roses all over the place :D in like those huge victorian vases that stand on stands. Drooping everywhere giving the effect of a gothic wedding. wow that looks so nice in my imagination :D
Sorry... just some ideas lmao XD I was getting carried away :D my bad XD
The venue is already so pretty, but to keep with the theme I'd like to add in a few little touches. Like brass bird cages, lace, etc. I'll be probably having to make the top hats for me and Lee myself, as I want them in a certain style and the old style stovepipes are difficult to find these days and I know how to make them, so all I need is the materials.
As for dresses, I haven't decided. I have added more ideas to the dress post in this world though. I need to keep in mind I'll be wearing a big, white top hat... It's more difficult to find dresses that would suit than I thought.
I still have my bouquet XD it is made of fake flowers, and it looks pretty, so I kept it. I didn't want to throw it at anyone >.< haha.
Are you going to decorate the place a day or so beforehand then? I'm sure that will be fun. I just had a few ivy plants, big candles, tealights in those pretty paper bags, and some green ribbon that got wrapped around pretty much everything XD
Candles are a yes from me! We did our wedding as cheaply as possible, but it was still nice. I think your theme will be really fun, just keep the colours simple, maybe have someone to make some interesting table-centre pieces?
I was considering decorating the tables myself if possible. In one way, I'm a control freak so at least I'd be getting EXACTLY what I wanted with it. It just depends if I can source the items needed for a good price. Bird cage tealight holders, for example.
flowers can be pricy, maybe you could look into buying them from a market rather than a shop? I know when I was thinking about them I looked into buying them from a flower market in Liverpool [as I live nearby] really early in the morning as that is where the florists go, only they increase the price to make profit. I decided against going in the end, it would have been too much trouble.
I honestly don't think I'll be having real flowers. It's not worth it, in my honest opinion. They do have that special something, but the mess, the smell and my water allergy means that fresh flowers that have been in water won't be agreeable.
Look up inspirations wholesale. If you have one near you they do AMAZING flowers and decorations and things.
Save the Day cards go bore the invites and I think they're silly.
I actually agree. I thought I'd chuck it out there since people seem to expect them these days.
I say skip them but send RSVPs with the invites.
This is a more realistic idea. I have started designing a set of invites with a removable RSVP slip on the bottom.
The chair covers depend on the quality of chairs available. crappy chairs definitely covers with blue ribbon.
The chairs are very nice, but the supplier has high quality jaquard covers available.
scatter crystals will be a mess to clean up after.
It's probably going to sound selfish, but I won't have to worry about that since it's all taken care of by my assistant, so mess isn't an issue.
I am glad that I went with silk flowers, I still display them.
I honestly don't see the point in real flowers these days. I know there's the whole symbolism of purity and fertility at stake, but they are stupidly expensive and, as you say, you can keep silk ones. My brother actually had foam roses at his.
Bridesmaid gifts, give them the jewelry for the wedding.
It was either that, or I was going to purchase mini versions of my jewellery bouquet for them and allow them to keep those.
