Welcome friends, Romans, bumders. This is the spot for all my personal musings and random trash that doesn't fall into the fiction category. (Which the Starscream Collection is now for.)

Huzzah!

Now, go steal me fresh jams.

Card Competition - On Behalf of PostPals

I'm sure you recall my previous post regarding PostPals. (If you don't, then go read: http://www.theotaku.com/worlds/alloycollection/view/174532/post_pals/)

Well, Post Pals are holding a card design competition. Drawings, paintings, computer graphics, what ever your style they are looking for some designs of cards for their memorial families who have lost their children. (Birthdays, Christmas, Anniversary, etc. Anything goes.) Winning designs will be turned into cards. Please email your designs to [email protected] or tag them on Facebook with a link. Kids and adults welcome to enter and I'm sure they'll accept overseas entries too.

It's for a great cause so please give it a go.

Post Pals

http://www.postpals.co.uk/

Post Pals is an awesome site dedicated to making very ill children smile. The idea is you pick a child from the list and send emails, letters, cards and even gifts if you want. This project is for anyone of any age, in any country. So, if you have a few minutes and some paper spare, go visit and write to a child!

The site hosts the childs pages with a photo, name, forwarding address for the family and lists info like their pets, brothers, sisters and favourite things. It will also tell you the story behind them and about their illnesses and sometimes the parents update the page with new info like a blog.

Often these children are in hospital for months and they need things to cheer them up and take their mind off of things. Even if it's just a colourful doodle, it can brighten up a dull hospital room. Even old toys can be sent to them, or fun handmade stuff like a cross stitch door sign with their names on it, or even things like custom made jewelry.

Most of the time, they just like to hear your stories. Tell them about your life, your family and pets and what you like. If you have something in common, talk about that. Most even like to reply back and you can make a new little friend out of the experience.

If you have the time to spare, please consider it. Or, failing that, pass the link on to others. :)
