Start of classes~!

I start classes tomorrow! Still have a couple things to sort out with the registrar, but it all should work out okay. Finalized schedule will probably be:

Intensive Chinese (MTWRF 12:10-1:00PM)
China in Transition (TR 9:40-11:00AM)
Quest for Justice (MWF 9:10-10:00AM)
Microeconomics (MWF 3:10-4:00PM)

The only unsure one is Micro, though hopefully things will work out...?

And my Quest class is over-enrolled like crazy, haha. It currently stands at 19 registered out of 13 slots, and I'm def. one of the overflow students. And my Chinese class only has four slots open, and I was lucky enough to grab one of them. :)

Didn't go to any parties last night, though my roommate did and saw our RA (different from the RA I had over the summer!) being totally pissed & taught her how to shotgun a beer. Interesting stuff... He's a nice guy, though, haha.

Oh, and I think some random girls might think that Eccentric NYer and I are an item LOL. Because we were holding hands on Middle Path (in a platonic way, obviously) when we ran into some girls. And NYer has a habit of referring to me as "his girl," which made the random girls coo. The summer people sometimes joked about me being NYer's gf (which is of course inherently funny b/c he's gay and acts like it), but it's ten times funnier when people actually think I'm his gf. xDDDD

Orientation :OO

Things I have learned:

• According to superstition, my dorm building may or may not house an entrance to Hell.
• Brazilian Boy (the guy I'm married to on Facebook) is probably taking Intensive Chinese with Korean Girl & I! Which is totally unexpected because he's Brazilian and seemed to have no interest in Asia at all. And he wants to do study abroad in China LOL.

  Brazilian Boy: Should I take it? I mean, class every day and TA sessions...
  Me: You definitely should!
  Brazilian Boy: But you laughed when I said I wanted to take Chinese. What, are only Asians allowed to take Chinese??
  Me: Nooo, I laughed out of surprise. And happiness! It was a joyful laugh.
  Him: ....It sounded more like a mocking laugh.

• We all have UCCs (upperclassmen counselors) and mine is SO cool. I think the two of us are going to get along really well just b/c I'm already friends with some of his friends, haha. It is nice to have connections.
• And speaking of connections, Eccentric NYer has hooked me up with so many people omg. Including one Cute, Tall German Boy who I've only spoken with for all of two minutes, but he has the most adorable accent and I want to be friends with him. :DDD
• I heard that some craaaazy drunken incidents have happened to upperclassmen I know. And they're the type of stories that make me never want to drink, ever, and even my old roommate (who DOES drink) doesn't want to anymore b/c of those stories. And I guess I'm a little worried b/c I heard tonight will probably be a party night. :(
• Speaking of roommates! I'm getting along okay with my new one. Sometimes we're a little distant b/c she has her swim team friends and I have my summer program friends, but I think we'll probably get along okay. Especially since she likes Asian things! And I was worried that she would think I was a freak after I hung up all my posters & pics of the boys, but when she & her friend first saw my DBSK'd side of the room, they just said, "Oh cool, hot Asian guys."

  Roommate: *looking at posters from her bed* I'm really liking these posters. Though my only issue is that they all look like they're four feet tall.
  Me: *LOL* Actually, they're all pretty tall. You just can't see it since they're all close in height.
  Roommate: Oh yeah, I can see from that poster that they all have realllly long legs... and they probably weigh, like, eighty pounds.
  Me: Pretty much! But yeah, they're all around six feet tall.
  Her: ......SWEET.

Which reminds me that Avril should be coming on campus today~! My death in T-minus six hours or less. :3

College :O & Vote~!

Just to make this quick b/c I'll need to be waking up really early tomorrow to head off to Ohio: going back to Kenyon tomorrow & have just gotten more or less done with all my packing. I'm bringing my posters of the boys with me too, haha. The main thing I'm worried about, of all things, is if my fav. shirt is packed or not (it's not in my closet, but I don't know if it's in my suitcase...?) and I am seriously tempted enough to rip open my luggage just to check. I also seemed to have misplaced my flash drive (the one that I got for free :( ) b/c I'm chouberiberi stupid. And I desperately want to write Overture now (my ideas for it are so good that even I'M amazed), but now I don't have any time before orientation begins, and Avril is going to fucking murder me for delaying it this long when she comes on campus. GAH.

But yeah, ANYWAY. So I bought an awesome new wallet from JNY & figured now was as good a time as any to switch out my wallet pic of Jae. (Or to the unaware, my hot Korean boyfriend whose picture I always carry. 8D) And since voting on these things seems to be the in-thing right now, I'm jumping on this bandwagon:

Graphic Novels & ....Japan's Most Wanted Lovers?

1) Just a quick brag: I got a free COACH purse last night! 8D

2) I started reading the Watchmen graphic novels, since the upcoming movie of it sounds pretty awesome. (And believe me, the trailer looked AMAZING on Imax.) My fav. character so far is Rorschach, though I could love him based on character concept alone. He has moving inkblots on his FACE.

Panic at the Disco (just shut up and read ok) & Haircuts!

I never would have seen this coming, but I guess I'm now a PATD fan. Mainly because I keep hearing their Nine in the Afternoon song, and the more I listened to it, the more Britpop-esque it sounded to me. And I was all, DAMN WHAT HAPPENED.

Sorry to anyone who's liked them all this while, but I DEF. was not a fan of their earlier music. Well, it was more their lyrics rather than their music that grated; the words of their songs and song titles just struck me as overly-showy. (I'm sorry, but "lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off"? "Now I'm of consenting age to be forgetting you in a cabaret"? wtf is this. And god, don't even get me started on "I Write Sins Not Tragedies.") Whenever I did like a song of theirs, it was a guilty pleasure because EVERYTHING about the group just reeked of flashy pretension. :/

But now! But now it seems that the whole group has been possessed by the soul of some Beatles fanboy because all of their newer songs sound like homages to old British rock music. IT'S AMAZING!!1 I have a reallllly broad tolerance of different music genres these days, but this stuff is right up my alley in terms of the type of rock music that I get hooked to most. I guess I just find it really special when a band that I used to crinkle my nose at suddenly transforms into a band that I could easily like. :)

ANYWAY. So I got my haircut today. The slanted bangs ended up not happening because I found it annoying to have hair over my eye, so I have a quasi-bang thing going on... which makes me look pretty FOB, haha. It's like I've been imported directly from Asia. Maybe I should have a Product of China stamp on me or something. :O

My FABULOUS new hat. The saleslady said that not many people can pull this hat off... which means either that I'm one of the lucky few or it was a subtle hint that the hat doesn't look good on me. >_>;;

Do U-KNOW who else got a haircut recently? (HA HA HA.) Thankfully, Yunho did not lose his brains and get a bowlcut, unlike certain nameless others who will wallow in anonymous disgrace. (a.k.a. YOOCHUN)
