    Haha. Believe me, there is no connection. The boys never have control over the type of music they sing, and have even hinted that they don't like some of their Japanese songs. So unless the management was trying to be ironic (which they never are on Japanese talk shows of any kind), I'm guessing they just quote Liam randomly because he's foreign and speaks English and that's cool no matter what the context. :3

    So here I sit, thinking, "What's the connection?" Of course, the mention of Oasis will grab my attention, so I had to think this one out. Perhaps this is another example of my trying too hard to find any sort of connection (Japan loves to screw with us, and I'll stick with that non-answer!). Still, I appreciate any sort of Oasis related items, no matter how odd the connection.

    So this has nothing to do with anything, but I guess I thought you'd appreciate it: I was just listening to Slide Away while looking for DBSK icons and then suddenly remembered that Oasis is reeeally popular in Japan. There was one kind-of surreal incident where I was watching the boys on a Japanese music show and during one of the eyecatch things, there was a quote from Liam about playing only the music he wants to and not caring about outside opinion etc. etc. And I was like, "....why would they quote Oasis in relation to a Korean boyband???"

    I'm not that familiar with Watchmen, but I've heard of it. Of course, a person with an ink-blot test on his face seems interesting. I'll have to pay more attention to what's going on!

    Maybe they should suspend the games until Phelps gets some competition. It was laughable that for a while, he had more medals than the entire Canadian contingent--all 300+. Thankfully, my little Canadians scooped up some medals. Whoohoo for all!

    @Dagger IX1:

    I'd say with the average CJK (I think I'll borrow this abbreviation from now on, haha) person the differences become a lot more muddled, but with celebrities and other super attractive people, the differences become that much more obvious somehow. You just don't see many guys as Westernized-looking as Jaejoong in Korea, whereas they're pretty rampant in the Japanese celeb. scene... and likewise, you don't see many guys like Lee Junki in Japan. Admittedly, I still struggle with Chinese celebs b/c I get "authentic" Chinese guys mixed up with Taiwanese & Singaporean celebs all the time. @_@

    I always found it amusing how my h.s.'s Asian club members just *loved* to guess which countries they all came from. And they would always say unintentionally racist things like, "I thought she was Chinese because her skin is really light" or "I could tell he was Korean because of how he dresses." LOL

    My mom claims she can tell the CJK difference, but I'm hopeless at it, haha.

    Watchmen looks sooo awesome~
