When it comes to film, my memory isn't the greatest, especially when it comes down to the small details. Hence, when I do come across something I like very much, it's so much more enjoyable for me to catch stuff I missed the first time. It's always the second or third viewing when I start paying attention to something like the direction or setting.
My good memory often makes rewatching not as great for me, and most movies aren't deep enough to merit a rewatch in the first place. So I'm really glad when I rewatch a movie and the experience is actually better the second time, since it's pretty uncommon for me. :)
I enjoy watching a film I've not seen in a while, just to see if I can catch things I've never noticed the first time. Of course, I have to do this with books, as well.
Sometimes, when I do notice some little element, the film becomes that much better, especially a scene in which the newly noticed element is now seen. It can be a certain line or setting that really fits the context, and when they click the film becomes something else.
