Ah, I'm not in China right now if that's what you were thinking. I'm studying at Middlebury College in Vermont. It's just that this program has a language pledge, so we're all forced to speak Chinese all the time.
BUT I am going to China almost right after this Middlebury program ends. Just had the pre-departure orientation yesterday. :)
...I actually can't read all of that email, lol. There's a few characters that I can't read at all and there are several words that I can read but don't understand. e.g. the word for heat sickness 中暑, 中 is really common and means 'middle' and 暑 is from 暑假 which means 'summer vacation.' But I had never seen those two characters put together before reading that email.
Sorry for the long explanation, haha. Recently, some of my relatives have been saying things like, "Your Chinese must be really good now!/You'll fit in perfectly in China!" But to be honest, my Chinese still sucks, so I don't want people to get the wrong idea. ^^;;;;
And yeah, they're not classes. Just activities that we have once a week. :)
I find it crazy that you're actually there studying. It's really an amazing opportunity. I have another friend studying over there in Hong Kong right now. ;( I'm so jealous of you guys. haha
Anyway, hope you're able to stay cool & improve on your speaking! And I also hope your other activities won't be canceled.
I find it amazing how you know Chinese and can read all of that...and you're taking classes there, too. It's really really cool.
Well, I'd be psyched! Although I do know how you feel about that. When you do all the homework for that day and it ends up being canceled. :/ I hope you still find a way to enjoy the day.
Chinese cooking and mahjong CLASSES?? Oh man. That sounds so freaking awesome. I'd kill for a mahjong class...oh wait...activities? Not classes? Is that just a once a week thing? O__o' Special?

@Pleiades Rising:
Around 90 degrees F everyday. Sometimes it reaches 100, supposedly. :(

Where's the heat waves when you want them? How hot is it over there, anyhow?
