Totally agree - it's mind-numbing, the lack of compassion and critical thinking that generally goes on in the media as well as certain factions of the population / the system in general.
Do you listen to podcasts? If you're interested in more thoughtful discussion on issues like this, you might check out a podcast called This Week In Blackness, which is an independent-media podcast that looks at (American) current events and politics from the black perspective.
Any act using violence to convey an 'idea' IS terrorism, no matter if the terrorists use bombs or guns, I absolutely agree with you!
And I'm so tired of this racism, here and in America, towards brown-skinned people as if they were all terrorists... One of my friends is Arab and yet she has light skin and curly red hair... Nothing 'arab-like' in the end...
Anyway, your post is really important! So thank you for sharing your thoughts.

It's sad because regardless of innocence, people who look a certain way are automatically judged as threatening and dangerous.
Once a classmate of mine was at a nightclub and got thrown to the ground and searched by security guards because they thought he had snuck in without paying. (They were wrong.) And afterwards, he was rightfully livid and said, "If I was a girl, they wouldn't have treated me like that. If I wasn't black, they wouldn't have treated me like that." And it's true--as an Asian woman, I can't imagine that happening to me. For all anyone knows, I could be some crazy serial killer, but no one would treat me as dangerous until I prove that I am. People who look a certain way are treated as dangerous right from the start, and so things like this happen. :(
