Yeah, if you're going into grad school, grades are very important. Although even MORE important are references from your Profs. I hope you've been getting buddy buddy with them!
But really, don't worry TOO much about your grades. Your grades drop in University/College. Not much you can do about it. I use to be straight 90% and above in high school, and would freak if I got anything lower. Now I'm ok with anything above 80%. It's what happens.
But yeah, like I said, for a lot of things, extracurricular and references are far more important than grades. A 75%-85% student with some good references from profs and that did an extracurricular project or two that is relevant to your field will be far more likeable than a student with a 95% average. You just gotta weigh out your options and do some planning if you're looking into this kind of stuff.
Sorry for the rant. I'm planning on getting a Masters and Ph.D., so I've looked into this stuff quite a bit, lol.

And yes, perhaps the intense suffering is what's needed to make us learn. But it's not that bad if you actually like what you're doing!
