Touch is pretty much the most famous anime that's hardly known Stateside, so even though I love Cross Game, if you only ever watch one baseball anime, it should probably be that one. And I have yet to see anyone criticize an Adachi work for bastardizing baseball, so hopefully that won't be a problem!
Too bad hockey doesn't seem to be one of the more popular sports in Japan. ^^;;
