Welcome to Beyond the Veil, my world that I created in my books and stories. Here I will share stuff about my characters, story ideas and current projects. I hope that everyone will like peering into this hidden world within our world!

My Current Project - Alabaster the Vampire Child

Okay, so my current project actually is a kind of vampire story. I say kind of because it’s a little bit different than most others I’ve ever heard or read. Right now, the title is a work in progress, but it concerns the character I shared in fanart named Alabaster Monroe. Basically, he’s a child vampire who was bought and is being raised by a Raven named Vincent Monroe, hence his last name.

As I said, everything in the Veil’s world mirrors what we have in ours, and Vincent is what a Raven would be (I’ve actually been wanting to write about the Raven Vincent for years, but it’s taken a long time to come up with a good storyline for him ). He looks mostly human, although he has pale skin and very black features such as his hair and eyes. He also has large black wings. What he calls a nest is actually a home similar to what we as people would have, although he makes it within the sides of a cliff on his own, along with everything in it. He’s one of the most powerful creatures there, and considered a ruler, if that makes sense. He’s also very egotistical and stubborn, although Alabaster helps curve that somewhat.

Alabaster was actually turned four hundred years ago, and had been the son of a duke in France. His original name was Acelyn Campion, though he was renamed by Vincent. He’s only eight when he’s turned, and although he plays like he’s tough, he’s still a child at heart and has a hard time dealing with what he’s become at first. It was actually hard for him and Vincent to get along at first, considering that they are a lot alike in personality when it comes to be stubborn, but they eventually do become like father and son, and Vincent would do anything to protect him. Alabaster even comes to call him daddy after a time.

Alabaster is one of many vampire children throughout the centuries that were turned and sold in secret in the world of the Veil. Originally, they were supposed to be eliminated by order of the vampire king after they were turned because they tended to be too wild and unpredictable, but the vampires called the Hunters sold them in secret instead to line their own pockets, so to speak. I guess you could think of Hunters like the police of the vampire world. They were genetically altered by the rulers, and brutally efficient in their disposal of any problems, including those with other vampires. Needless to say, when word finally starts getting back about the children being sold instead of killed, it sets off a whole set of problems within the two worlds, with Alabaster and Vincent right in the middle.

So, that’s kind of it in a nutshell. Hopefully I’ve covered the basics about these characters and their part of that world. If you took the time to read all of it, thank you so much. I know it turned out a little bit long and kind of complicated…
