Yuudai? Helloooooooooooooooooooooooo? (*looks around*)
Does anyone know where/what happened to Yuudai? Not long after I logged on I found that Yuudai was no longer on my list of subscriptions...that made me kinda sad...
WARNING: This is going to be a vent post. All those who shoe shop like it's a religion, you have been warned.
I'm going to make this very clear: I HATE shoe shopping with a passion!!! I know this may sound strange comming from a member of the female species, but it's been a constant pain in the butt for me for the past five or seven years now. Here's why:
I wear a size 11 in US women's measurements.
(There, I said it!!!) Tennie-shoes definitely aren't the problem; believe me, if I don't find anything I like in the women's section I just get myself an 8 1/2 or 9 from the men's (they usually have the more comfortable tennie shoes anyway). Casual/Dress shoes on the other hand are next to impossible for me to find. Most department stores carry one or two 11's in a few choice styles, and most of all the good ones are taken by the shoe-fanatics. =_=; (Damn you!!! *shakes fist in frustration*)
HOWEVER, it just so happened that today I was taken to one of the FEW shoe stores in town that ACTUALLY carries an ample supply of my size. (*le gasp!*) I didn't think much would come of it, but I actually made out like a bandit (for once). Hec, I even enjoyed myself (again--for once)!
But do you want to know what's really funny about all that? ^_^ That same place of a God-send that I was taken to today will officially shut its doors in December. ^_^; ...*beep*...
Last night while I was watching the Mentalist with my family, the main character asked a very interesting question to some of the teenage suspects. The question was,
"If you were any animal, what would it be?"
Sure, he used it as a means of getting a glimpse into each of their personalities, but it got me thinking as to what I would prefer and how it would relate to who I am. Here's the animal I picked:
My main reason for choosing the white tiger is because I find them majestic. There are plenty of other reasons, but I'm just going to leave that for my own self-reflection.
(As a side note, if I couldn't be a white tiger, my second choice would be a platypus duck. ^_^ It's a little bit of everything, and the name is fun to say! ^__^)
What about you, the reader of this? What would you pick, if you could be any animal in the world?
This is in regards to your last post in your Ranting world, since the comment probably would've been too long to put there:
I can’t offer words of wisdom for you on depression. It’s not that I haven’t experienced it for myself or not once or twice; truth is, I’m the type of person who puts on a proverbial “mask” to cover what I’m really feeling. I got into the habit of doing that because, just like you, I make it my own personal mission to help people feel welcome throughout their day. Depression, sorrow—those are emotions I don’t want the people around me, especially the ones I care about most in this lifetime, to feel. If and when they do have those moments, I quite literally feel helpless about what to do. This is what I do offer in these instances:
- A few honest words
- A listening ear
- And a hug, be it long or short, for anyone willing to have one
I’ve (obviously) “listened” to what you’ve written, and—as much as I would like to—I can’t physically give you a real hug to ease what you’re going through, so I’ll keep the honest words I have for you as short and sweet as I possibly can.
Nothing is going to be settled overnight. Reflect on what’s going on if you want to, but don’t let it conquer your entire day. Keep your head high and look straight ahead, and look for outlets—preferably not of the illegal persuasion—that can at least get your mind off of it for a while.
I could easily add more, but I don’t want to be your dictator. But I do hope that this at least helps, even if by a small margin.
Take care of yourself! (And about that hug…despite what I just said, I’m going to do this anyway. *hugs* )
Wow! I didn't know that there was such a thing here on the site! (Boy, don't I feel a little in the dark =_=...)
Anyway, here is where I stand as of 11:00AM Central Time today:
