Brother's Love~Chapter One~ The Fated Meeting

“Justice has been served,” I yell. Three girls are on the ground, but one is missing I could have sworn there were four girls. A quiet clap comes from behind me and a turn around to see Jennifer Ackermann with her phone in one hand. Its shut so she must have finished whatever she had to do. I hope she didn't call the police, oh well this won’t take long. I run toward her and grab her hair with both hands and pull.

She falls forward and lands on her face, but I flip her over and kick her in the arm before she could take another breath. I pull my foot back and aim for her head but she starts screaming for help, I have to shut her up, fast. I dive onto her, with my elbow hitting her stomach and knocking the air out of her lungs so she stops screaming. I am about to do some serious damage to her besides scaring her when some guy comes running. How in the world did he find out?

Oh right, she did call someone, I guess this must be her brother, he would come faster than the police. He swings his fist and I dodge it in the last second, I should probably be careful since he is a champion in mixed martial arts. I duck as his foot flies at my head and swing my foot and his legs to knock him down. He starts to fall but grabs my shoulders and pushes himself up. I launch a knife-hand at his throat and kick at his side with my left leg. He jumps over my leg and grabs my arm, pinning me to the ground in some complicated move.

He is on top of me and I bring my right leg up to knee his family jewels. He grimaces and I switch places with him, so I am on top pinning him down. My long hair is coming out of the ponytail and some of it is touching the ground, he smiles at me and says, “You should be my girlfriend.” I practically fall over in shock.

Truthfully, I’ve never actually looked at him like that so I spare a few seconds to look him over. The first thing I notice about him is his bright blue eyes under his dark black hair; the contrast is very… nice I guess. Not only is his face nice but he is pretty muscular and can obviously fight very well. He is looking at me the same way I’m looking at him, as if I might leave that very second and he has to burn my image into his mind.

“Will you be my girlfriend?” he is staring right into my eyes as he asks this, “My girlfriend should be able to fight well and you just blew me away.” I can’t move when his eyes are looking at me like that yet somehow I manage to jump up and start walking away. “Wait what’s your name at least? My name is Tim,” Tim says as he jumps up and grabs my arm.

“Dylan.” I start to run; its five till seven and I have to get home for dinner and to meet my twin brother, Jake. Tim starts to follow me until his sister yells at him to help her. He scowls and gives me a piece of paper before he turns to help his sister. My house is only three blocks away so I run, when I get to my front door I fix my hair back into its original ponytail and open the door. My identical twin brother is sitting at our table drinking some soda. Jake doesn’t notice me until I am right in front of him with my arms out ready for a hug. He puts down his soda and jumps into my arms; we hug for five minutes straight while talking about what’s happened in our lives since we last met. My brother goes to a very prestigious all boys high school, because the tuition is so high I have to work two part-time jobs to pay for his school but I’m fine with it since I love my brother. Jake mutters something about school and ending but couldn't quite hear him. "Sorry I missed that Jakey," I say with a huge grin on my face.

"Nevermind it's nothing,"Jake says as he returns my smile with a smaller smile.

"Hey, I see you got your hair cut."

"Yea."

"Now our hair isn't the same anymore," I scowl, pulling on my long strands.Maybe it's time for a haircut.

Jake gets to stay for the weekend since he got special permision from the teachers. The entire weekend is spent spoiling Jake and talking about everything in general. I'm sad when Jake has to leave but thrilled that Tim wants me to be his girlfriend. School was the same as usual for a while up until the last day before Thanksgiving holiday. When I get home my mother is crying and my father is gone.

"Mom! What's wrong?"

"It's your brother," she pauses to sob, "he tried to commit suicide." At this point she completely brakes down, screaming and shouting.
